MPD Reports: High School student charged with possession and intent to distribute

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Aug. 27 to Sept. 3, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Agency Assist – North Broad St. City Hall. Assisted APS with welfare check at Walton Street. Handled by APS.  

EMS Assist – South Madison Ave. Complainant (90-year-old) called EMS. She has dementia and should be placed in a personal care home shortly, turned over to EMS.  

Theft report – Springdale Rd. Complainant advised he ordered items which were said to have been delivered by UPS but were not. Report taken.

Dispute – West Spring St., Piedmont Walton. subject refusing to leave and did not like the COVID policy of only one guest per patient in the delivery area. Subject was gone when officers arrived.  

Traffic control – Hwy 138 and Walmart entrance. Ref to a commercial vehicle with an open top trailer that spilled chicken guts over the roadway. MCCD notified, unable to respond. Citation for failure to secure load issued.  

Drug complaint – Double Springs Church Rd., Monroe Area High School. Juvenile student arrested and released to parents from the PD for Poss of Marijuana, poss with intent to distribute, and Poss within 1,000 feet of school.

Shoplifting – South Broad St., Dollar General Complainants advised they saw a white male and white female take merchandise from the store. Report taken.
