MPD Reports: Intoxicated persons, mental health issues and domestic disputes dominate

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Dec. 21 – 27, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Domestic Dispute, Booth Dr., complainant disputing with named male subject. Subjects split up last date and male subject needed to get his clothing out of the house. Male subject kicked the door open. Complainant did not wish to pursue charges only asked for Officers to stand by until male subject left. All was ok.
  • Welfare Check, Ash Lane, reference to locating a named subject. Made contact with residents on location who stated that they did not know where the subject was. They advised their granddaughter, subjects’ friend, was staying at a friend’s house in the county. Walton County Sheriff’s Office was advised.
  • Civil Matter, Chestnut Lane, reference to a civil matter between two subjects in reference to a vehicle purchase. The civil process was advised.
  • Dispute, East Washington St., Peters and Fosters, reference to male subject verbally disputing with another subject.  The male subject is a patient at Exceptional Community Services located on East Church Street; he was upset about not being able to see his brother on Christmas and walked off from the facility. Male subject’s Dr. arrived on scene and was able to calm him down and get him back to the facility. Everything on location ok.
  • Follow-Up, South Madison Ave., complainant was given information about the location of her vehicle that was stolen. The vehicle was located in Social Circle by Social Circle Police Department. The vehicle was recovered and turned over to the owner. Supplemental added.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Spring St., Walmart, reference to a golden tone SUV riding the parking lot for the past hour. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Mental Person, East Spring St., reference to a female subject having a mental episode. The subject was verbally disputing with two females. Subject checked on scene by EMS. Everything ok. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person in the area of South Broad St., reference to a male subject on location intoxicated. Male subject stated he had been at home drinking and was walking to John’s Supermarket to get some food. The male subject was given a ride back to his residence on South Madison Ave. The male subject was advised not to attempt to walk to the store until he sobers up. Everything on location ok.
  • Burglary Report, West Spring St., Gwinnett Clinic, reference to the power turned off and items found missing inside the business. Report was taken and CID notified and responded to the scene for further investigation.
  • Domestic Dispute, Davis St., reference to Kametra Smith harassing named male subject. Smith repeatedly refused officers orders and arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Pedestrian in the Roadway.
  • Dispute, Harris St., homeowner stated he didn’t want anyone on his porch and then shut the door.  The porch was vacated.
  • Intoxicated Person, East Church St., Jack Peters grocery, the male subject was heavily intoxicated and walking on Chestnut Ln.  He was given a ride to that location.
  • Agency Assist, Atha St., WCSO request contact with mother in reference to meeting with WCSO in reference to the assault of her daughter. Message delivered.
  • Shoplifting, East Church St., reference to a black male in a red hat who stole items from the store who was GOA. Owners did not want to prosecute.
  • Dispute, South Broad St., reference to a dispute over the store not having public bathrooms. The subject was gone when officers arrived.
  • Civil Issue, Tanglewood Dr., Methe t with complainant in regards to questions concerning a civil issue. He was explained his options. All ok.
  • Suspicious Person, East Spring St., Monroe Motor Inn, subject disputing with a girlfriend in the room over property. Situation mediated.
  • Dispute, GW Carver, reference to complainant reporting he was robbed by a prostitute. The complainant was extremely intoxicated and appeared to be of diminished capacity. He declined a report documenting the alleged solicitation.
  • Dispute, Nowell St., reference to a civil issue over a TV. Complainant advised that her boyfriend took their tv to his friend’s house for safekeeping.  The complainant was advised of the civil process
  • Suspicious, Breedlove Ct. packages found along the roadway several houses away from intended mailing address. Spoke with an owner on Breedlove Ct and packages blew away from the roadside to be picked up. Everything ok.
  • Noise Complaint, Davis St., reference to music coming from residence. Spoke with the homeowner who turned the music off.
  • Suspicious Vehicle in the area of Wellington Dr. Made contact with driver and everything ok.
  • Mental Person, E. Marable St., female subject off meds, requesting to go to the hospital in reference to suicidal thoughts. Transported by EMT.
  • Dispute, Sorrells St., complainant advised named female subject was intoxicated and would not leave.  The female subject was gone when officers arrived.
  • Domestic Dispute, Hwy 78, complainant advised named male subject threatened to chop her up with a machete. The 11 YOA said male subject was going to “f them up”. WTBT for Simple Assault family violence x3
