MPD Reports: Juvenile complaints, domestic disputes and suspicious death

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period June 18 – 25, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Damage to Property – S. Broad St., MPD. The complainant reported a vehicle accident that occurred about a week ago. The report was needed for insurance purposes. 
  • Suspicious person – S. Broad St., South Broad Boots. Ref to a female possible on drugs in the restroom. The subject was sent on her way
  • Suspicious person – S. Broad St., Dollar General. William Aikens on location in the restroom for about 30 minutes. He was issued a criminal trespass warning and left.
  • Assault – Carver Pl; In reference to a juvenile hitting another juvenile on 17 June 2020. Report taken.
  • Burglary Attempt – Complainant advised that while she was home someone attempted to gain entry into her home. The front door was kicked open, no description of the suspect could be given. No property was taken
  • Stolen Vehicle – N. Broad St. In reference to a disagreement between the complainant and her boyfriend. Complainant advised her boyfriend stole her car after she gave him permission to use it. She was advised it was a civil issue
  • Juvenile Complaint – Towler St; Camptown Gardens. A dispute between a mother and daughter. The mother reported the juvenile broke the car window. The mother did not want to press charges. Situation mediated and remedies advised.
  • Mental Patient – Maple Ln.- In reference to a third party caller calling 911 advising she was a mental patient and asked for Police. The area was checked with negative contact. The complainant was later located by the family in Chicago.
  • Firearms – E. Marable & Glen Iris. 20+ shots heard in the area. Officer Patrolling the area, determined to be fireworks
  • EMS Asst – Masters Dr. – In reference complainant reporting that her sister fell off the ladder climbing out of the attic. It was late discovered that the incident was possibly a domestic dispute situation. Sister was not cooperative at the time of the call due to being heavily intoxicated. Report taken. Turned over to EMS.
  • Domestic Dispute – Baron Dr. Report of a domestic dispute, one party allegedly making threats with a firearm and then fleeing the scene. Baron Dr. is not a valid address. Multiple attempts to make contact with the complainant at: Baron Dr. & Tall Oaks E. with negative contact. Made contact with neighbors at both locations who advised all was ok. Unable to reach the complainant on callback.
  • Dispute – N. Broad St. -Deere Acres Complainant advised that her and her boyfriend got into a verbal argument which led to them needing to separate for the remainder of the night. Both parties advised that the argument never got physical.
  • Dispute – Masters Dr.- In reference to a complainant, on location disputing with his girlfriend and her sister. The complainant was given a ride to his brother’s house in Oxford.
  • Dispute – Lacy St. & Park St. Report of subjects being loud and fighting in the area. Made contact with a small group of subjects dancing. Advised to keep festivities quiet. All ok.
  • Agency Assist – Brookland Ct. Troup County Sheriff’s Office made contact with the subject who resides in Monroe. The subject was taken to a medical facility in Troup County. SO asked that we make contact with the subject’s family to inform them.
  • Entering Auto – Tall Oaks Ln. Two unlocked vehicles entered. Nothing of value taken. The owner declined a report.
  • Criminal Trespass – East Spring St. Subject found asleep on location in vacant residence under construction. He criminally trespassed from location and the homeowner was contacted.
  • EMS assist – Tall Oaks East. 20-year-old subject found deceased with no obvious signs of trauma. Turned over to CID and coroner.
  • Found Property – S. Broad St., MPD. Debit card found in ATM. Returned to owner.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Holly Hill Rd. Anonymous female reported juveniles riding a golf cart in the area. The child lives at Holly Hills. Spoke to Mom; all Ok.
  • Dispute – Page St. and Davis St. Wife disputing with husband over his girlfriend. Parties separated.
  • Dispute – Glen Iris Dr., Under 4K Auto Sales. The subject wanted officers to give him a copy of the license. He was told no and left the scene.
  • Found Property – Harvest Ln. – In reference to a wallet found in the gas station. Inside the wallet was an I.D. with the name, contact was attempted via. phone but due to his phone not working we were not able to return it to him. The wallet was placed into evidence.
  • Threats – Towler St; Complainant advised a female subject was making threats. Witnesses to the incident unwilling to cooperate. Remedies advised. Report taken.
