MPD Reports: Juvenile, domestic and neighborhood disputes, shots fired complaint

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period June 11 – 18, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious person – S. Madison Ave., Felker Park. All OK. The subject did not have a phone, so he was waiting on his girlfriend to wake up and unlock the door on S. Madison Ave. 
  • Sexual assault – S. Broad St., MPD. 12-year-old patient sexually assaulted by another patient on 5 Jun 2020. Turned over to CID.
  • Burglary – Lacy St. about someone breaking his back-bedroom window. Nothing was taken. A case number was given, and a report will be made.
  • Follow up – Hill St. Went out with CID to get updated information
  • Suspicious vehicle – Crestview Dr. Ref to an 18-wheeler in the area. Delivery of building materials, all ok.
  • Dispute – Etten Dr. Occurred in Walton County, Walton County Sheriff’s Office had already handled the call.
  • Dispute – King St. Third party caller advised the daughter’s boyfriend was disputing with her. Resident at the address stated she was asleep and did not have a boyfriend.
  • Scam – Bold Springs Ave. Complainant wanted to alert the PD of a scam involving the publisher’s clearing house. Caller wanted him to send $800 on a green dot card.
  • Dispute – S. Broad St., Southside MHP. Complainant advised a James subject knocked on her door about a vehicle. James was gone prior to the officers’ arrival.
  • Found property – W. Spring St., Monroe Optical. GDOT located a gun while working in the area. Firearm was missing parts and badly corroded by mud, retrieved, and turned into evidence.
  • Warrant – Alcovy St. Probation Office. Male subject transported to WCSO. Hit and run – New Lacy St., Report taken.
  • Other law – Pine Crest Dr. Subject had a vehicle removed from the property. He has active TPO but was not on location, all ok.
  • Follow up – at Plaza Dr., Harry Arnold Properties. Ref to Hit and run, all ok.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St., Walmart. The subject stole $24.00 worth of shorts. She was fingerprinted and released on citation.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – W. Spring St. at Walmart, about a vehicle being tailgated and followed to this location from Bethleham Target. All ok.
  • Other Law Enforcement – Gatewood Dr. Flagged down by resident advising of brown in color Pontiac Grand-Prix continuously speeding in the neighborhood. Extra patrol logged.
  • Dispute – Ridge Rd; In reference to complainant wanting her son not to come back to her residence due to him being an alcoholic. She was advised of the civil process. No physical altercation took place. Son was gone when officers arrived. All appeared ok.
  • Dispute – Gliding Ln. – In reference to the complainant, having a dispute with her husband and wanting him to leave. Complainant advised that her husband had left, and everything was ok. The complainant was fine and just wanted to vent. She already knew what to do about getting a legal separation and that she could not just kick her husband out.
  • Juvenile Complaint – W. Creek Cir. -In reference to complainant stating that a juvenile pulled a BB gun on her daughter. Contact was made with juvenile’s grandfather who stated it was a water gun. I advised the juvenile that the complainant did not want him at her house anymore. The grandfather said he would keep juvenile away from the complainant’s house.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Tanglewood Dr; Report of juveniles fighting. Juveniles separated prior to arrival and no witnesses able to provide details. All ok.
  • Dispute – Hwy 78; Walton Truck Stop. Dispute between employer and employee. Situation mediated. All ok.
  • Suspicious Person – Felker Park. In reference to a subject on location sleeping. The subject was advised of remedies and sent on his way.
  • Threats – Towler St. – In reference to the complainant, having an altercation with a subject. The complainant stated that the subject drove by her house and threatened to kill her dogs. Complainant said that subject got out of his van and pushed her to the ground and then took off. Report taken.
  • Shots Fired -Oak St & Booth Dr. Report of several gunshots being heard in the area. Area checked and eight spent shell casings were in a vacant lot adjacent to Cook St. Report taken.
  • Burglary In Progress – Springer Ln. – In reference to, complainant reporting that someone was in her house. The exterior and interior of the house were checked. There were no signs of forced entry. All was ok.
  • Other Law – Etten Dr. (House of Hope): In reference to complainant wedging a bowl between the door and the fridge. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person – S. Madison Ave. (Shifters) in reference to subject loitering and refusing to leave. Subject verbally warned not to return and was sent on his way.
