MPD Reports: Knife allegedly pulled on driver during road rage incident

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Dec. 19 – 26, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – N. Madison Ave.: In reference to a subject putting holes in the wall and refusing to pay for it. The incident occurred on 12/14/2019. Report made.
  • Damage to Property – S. Madison Ave. in reference to graffiti on one of the buildings. Report made.
  • Suspicious Person – Lawrence St. in reference to a black male juvenile coming on the property and going through items. The complainant confronted the male who advised he didn’t know anyone lived at the residence. The complainant did not get a name. The complainant wanted to make police aware of the incident. Nothing further.
  • Dispute – Towler St. in reference to a subject being locked out of his residence. Nothing further.
  • Fire Assist – Cherry Hill Rd: In reference to fire being inside of the walls. Turned over to the Fire Department.
  • Dispute – N. Broad St. – In reference to a customer wanting free air for his tires. Civil issue explained to both parties.
  • Theft – S. Broad St. – In reference to stolen trailer possibly spotted in the county.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Knight St. in reference to a dispute between Carver Middle School students. Turned over to Walton County SRO.
  • Warrant service – Alcovy St. in reference to serving a Violation of Probation warrant on a subject. Warrant served; report made.
  • Dispute – Nowell St. – In reference to subject striking complainants’ daughter with a fly swatter.
  • Welfare – Hickory Dr. – In reference to subject not responding to family who came to check on her. Located subject deceased in her bed. Criminal Investigation Division and Coroner notified.
  • Road rage – Caller advised that a male had almost struck his vehicle. He then followed the suspect to Knight St. While at the stop sign the male then exited his vehicle with a knife.
  • Theft – W. Spring Street. When the victim checked out of the self-checkout register, she forgot to get her $100.00 when she walked away. A female subject allegedly walked up behind her and stole the $100.00. The subject was identified and a Walton County Sheriff’s Deputy made contact with her at her residence. The Deputy refused to place her under arrest and got her to follow him to the Police Department. She was placed under arrest and was transported to the WCS jail.
  • Shoplifting – S. Broad St. Clerk requested an area check for a male wearing all blue who stole items from store. Declined a report.
  • Child Custody – Pierce St. in reference to a subject picking up his daughter.  The mother agreed to allow daughter to go live with her father a week before her 18th birthday but refused to give the daughter or her father the daughter’s vital record documents.  She was uncooperative and had an attitude towards all on the scene. Report Made.
  • Assist – Tanglewood Dr. GBI requested officers to make contact with a subject, in reference to her son possibly making threats on snap chat. Made contact all okay at this time GBI requested no further action.
  • Theft – Spruce Lane in reference to a complainant having her credit used by her daughter in October.
  • Burglary Attempt – Wheel House Lane. In reference complainant finding damage to the front door of the residence this morning. She advised no entry was made and no items taken. Report taken.
  • Warrant Attempt – Lakeview Dr.  The subject was arrested for MPD probation warrant. He was transported to the Walton County Jail. Report taken.
