MPD Reports: Large parties, street fights, domestic disputes and complaints over music

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period March 26 to April 2, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Loitering – W. Spring St. in reference to a patient that has been released from the hospital and is now hanging out in the parking lot for two hours. Subject left the property. 
  • Dispute – S. Broad St. Spoke with subject at Police Department stated wife was crazy, ripped shirt, grabbed face and wife hurt foot during domestic, transported to Piedmont Walton for treatment and mental evaluation. Warrants to be taken.
  • Dispute – Magnolia Ter. in reference to alleged dispute between two subjects. Female subject was uncooperative and would not exit her residence to speak with officers. Male subject denied ever being on location. Report taken.
  • Agency Assist – Walker Dr, Subject called DFACS for help, subject arrested for Simple Battery Family Violence on Warrant from a previous call.
  • Juvenile problem, Bridgeport Ln Juvenile caught smoking Black Mild in bedroom fussing with mom, spoke with juvenile all okay.
  • Civil Problem and Harassment – Spoke with complainant who is having family problems, spoke over phone, tried to call a subject, no answer.
  • Theft Report – Magnolia Ter. Complainant advised some juveniles stole a bike chain and lock. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person – In reference to subject walking in the road. Subject was advised to stay on the sidewalk. All ok
  • Found Property – Piedmont Walton – Marijuana was found on a patient by medical staff.
  • Other Law – Glen Iris Dr.- In reference to caller stating they observed a gathering of more than ten people. Parties were dispersed upon Officer arrival.
  • Welfare Check – Mobley Cir.- Complainant advised juvenile playing outside alone. Upon police arrival juvenile was back inside residence. All OK.
  • Loud Music – Carwood Dr. – In reference to a neighbor playing music too loud. Area was checked and music could be heard. The music was at reasonable decibels and not loud enough to bother anyone.
  • Dispute – Davis St.- Complainant wanted a female to leave the location. Female was gone upon law enforcement arrival. All OK.
  • Suspicious Person – Cook Pl.- Officer observed an intoxicated female fall. Officer stood by for EMS.
  • Unknown Law – W. Spring-Waffle House- In reference to an employee apparently having a medical issue. Turned over to EMS.
  • Loud Music – E. Spring St and Ford St. No music heard. All individuals on private property in small group. All OK.
  • Fight – W. Creek Cir.- Multiple callers in reference to a large party with subjects fighting in the street. While Officers were having subjects from the party disperse multiple subjects kept yelling that they did not have a curfew.
  • Disturbing the Peace – G W Carver Dr. Complainant advised a large crowd in the area possibly gambling. Area checked, all ok.
  • Assault – Claywill Cir. Occurred at an unknown location on Lacy St. Victim declined EMS. Report taken.
  • Comments: During shift on three instances Officers had contact with three large crowds.
  • Escort – S. Broad St. In reference to a CVS employee requesting we stand by while she goes to her vehicle.
  • Dispute – Radford St. and S. Madison Ave. Ref to a b/m and w/f with flashlights arguing in the area. Contact made with subjects in a black Ford Focus in the parking lot to the Engine Room. Subjects sent on their way, all ok.
  • Unknown problem – Gliding Ln. Reference blood on porch. Contact made with homeowners, no one hurt. unknown if blood was from person or animal. All ok.
  • Dispute – Carver Pl. Argument over property after a subject was released from jail with bond conditions. Advised of remedies.
  • Agency assist – Newton County SO and GSP in pursuit on HW11NB with blue in color Dodge Charger. Agencies lost contact prior to city limits. Area searched with negative contact.
  • Entering Auto – Alcovy St. Reference a black Malibu that appeared to have been gone through. Nothing reported missing. Report Taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Tanglewood Dr. Ref to dirt bikes in the area. Contact was made with the residents at apartment who were riding it in their yard. All ok.
  • Dispute – Kings Ridge Dr. Reference to couple arguing over financial issues. All ok
  • Other law – S. Madison Ave. In reference to offender trying to get property from his girlfriends house. Spoke with Witness and Offender. Report was made. He was arrested for family violence warrant out of Walton County
