MPD Reports: Man requests resident’s medicare and driver’s license info for alleged ‘study’

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Aug. 29 – Sept. 5, 2019. Due to the length, this has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Person – Piedmont Walton; Subject refused to leave after being discharged. According to Hospital Staff he is homeless and is under the influence of methamphetamine and pretending to have a mental health condition. Subject received treatment and was cleared by mental health. Subject denied all services offered to him and was instructed to leave the property. 
  • Harassment – Towler St. in reference to a woman reporting being harassed by a male subject. She was advised of her options and she requested that he be told not to contact her further. Contact was made and the subject was advised to leave herl alone.
  • Suspicious person – Arby’s. Subject on location. He was given a ride to Loganville.
  • Trespassing – Piedmont Walton. Subject back on location after being taken to Loganville. He was discharged again and was advised to leave again. He did so and walked off.
  • Criminal Trespass – W. Spring St. – In reference to a subject arrested for disorderly conduct and public drunk.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – New PD while performing area check officer located a red Chevy occupied in the parking lot of the New PD. The subject was found sleeping in the vehicle. The subject was told to leave all okay.
  • Agency Assist – Third Street in reference to meeting with animal control while they issue a citation to a subject.
  • Hit and Run – McDaniel St. First Baptist – man reported someone hit his vehicle while it was parked at church on Sunday. Documentation Report Completed
  • Entering Auto – Wilkens Dr. Complainant reported his vehicle was entered between 1000-1050 hours this date. Oxycodone was taken according to the complainant. Further investigation into false statements to be conducted.
  • Mental Person – Perry St. Subject who has an extreme mental disorder was acting out. Officers calmed him down. His sister advised that she is in the process of getting him into a treatment home.
  • Assault – New Lacy Street. Subject assaulted victim and stole her phone before he fled the scene. Additional warrants to be taken for the theft.
  • Theft -Fourth St. Subject accused her boyfriend’s daughter of stealing clothing and Xanax with no proof. Boyfriend spoke with his ex-wife and advised them to stay away from his residence and leave them alone. Documentation report completed.
  • Traffic Stop/Arrest – Hwy 78 E./Edmonson Rd. David Ayers was stopped for traffic violations and arrested for identity theft warrants out of Coweta County. A search of the vehicle yielded Heroin and Methamphetamine.
  • Welfare Check – W. Spring St. Female caller stated a female wearing a pink dress was sitting on the ground next to a silver car having a panic attack. After checking the parking lot female was located inside the store. She advised all was okay she was trying to get her keys from a third party.
  • Unknown Law – Birch St. Complainant was met by two black males in a dark gray car that wanted her driver’s license info and Medicare for a study. Possible fraud. Documentation report completed
  • Animal Complaint – E. Spring FISH Store in reference to a blue car with a dog locked inside. Vehicle was found to be running and AC was on high. All okay at this time.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Sherwood Dr. Complainant was having problems with his grandson acting out at home and school. Remedies advised and they are seeking counseling.
  • Damage to Property – Towler St. Complainant advised the landlord came into her apartment and turned the stove on to harass her. No odor of gas in the apartment. Documentation report completed.
