MPD Reports: Mental health complaints, unruly juveniles and suspicious person complaints

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 5 – 11, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Person, East Spring St., Dollar General, reference to male subject hanging around the building.  He was advised to go home.
  • Suspicious Person, East Spring St., reference to young black male in a hoodie attempting to open callers’ door while inside. Caller left area and subject was gone when officers arrived.
  • Theft, Belle Meade, complainant stated a house cleaner named may have stolen jewelry and coins sometime in the last week or so.
  • Dispute, Colquitt St., reference to a male assaulting a female near Colquitt St./East Washington. Area checked multiple times with no contact.
  • Disturbing the Peace, South Broad St., reference to sawing.  The people sawing said they were done for the night.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Felker Park, reference to red Chrysler 300 in park. Jermaine Bolden identified in vehicle with Probation Violation Warrant from Walton County. Arrested and transported to Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Mental Issues, West Vine St., reference to male subject hearing voices and having suicidal thoughts. Voluntarily transported to Piedmont Walton for evaluation.
  • Civil Matter, South Broad St., Met with complainant reference to being evicted out. Advised her the necessary steps to take.
  • Dispute, Deer Acres Inn, Staff asked a female subject to leave then she requested a report due to missing $600.
  • Suicide attempt, Towler St., mother found her daughter had a power cord tied around her neck.  EMS transported juvenile.
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., Ms. Wal-Mart Loss Prevention wanted a Criminal Trespass warning issued to a named subject.
  • Mental Patient, South Madison Ave., Caretaker requested EMS and Officer to take a patient for a mental evaluation. The patient was alert, coherent, and did not want to be evaluated. Situation mediated.
  • Dispute, Springer Lane, two subjects on location disputing about relationship problems. One subject wanted to leave, and the other subject wanted her house key first. Parties were separated report taken.
  • Suspicious Person, West Spring St., Anonymous complainant stated a male was near Alcovy Sign with a flashlight and juvenile child. Contact made with the male subject who was on scene fixing the HVAC unit. All okay.
  • Unknown Law, West Spring St., reference to a named male subject on location having chest pains, possibly narcotic related. Turned over to EMSand transported to Piedmont for treatment.
  • Prowler, Chestnut Ln., reference to complainant calling because she heard a noise outside an area check was conducted with negative contact.
  • Possible Burglary, East Church St., Met with two females both stated that they were with a named male subject who drove the vehicle behind this residence. The male subject was nowhere to be located. Was advised to leave the area.
  • Theft Report, East Washington, reference to a car seat being taken from in front of complainant’s apartment. Report Taken.
  • Hit and Run, North Board St., Met with complainant advised of a hit and run. Made contact with the complainant who advised the subject that hit the fence left all his information to fix the fence. Complainant declined a report at this time.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Unisia Dr/Ga Hwy 78. A complainant advised vehicle almost hit her. Checked the area. Negative contact. Complainant continued on.
  • Suspicious Person, Walmart, complainant thought he saw male subject at Walmart who supposed to be wanted out of Florida and North Carolina. Made contact with the subject who resembles male subject but was not him. Nothing further.
  • Dispute, Harris St., Argument over grandkids. Met with the complainant who was upset with his wife. She took the kids against his wishes. Report made. The complainant was complaining of abdominal pain due to cancer. EMS was called.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Ridge View/Breedlove Dr., stand by while the Juvenile was being released due to violent tendencies towards staff. We transported the Juvenile to Piedmont Walton.
  • Warrant Service, Alcovy St., Kasey Heath was taken into custody and transported to the Walton County Jail.
  • Domestic Dispute, Meadow Walk, daughter reported her mother (Melissa Atkinson) grabbed her arm and choked her. Melissa was arrested for Agg. Assault and booked in at Walton County Sheriff’s Office. Warrant to be taken.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Bold Springs Ave., met with father who wanted me to talk to his 11-year-old stepson due to him being unruly. Pep talk given.
  • Suspicious Person, West Spring St., Walmart, reference to a black female asking for money and looking inside cars. Negative contact.
  • Suspicious Vehicle at the Christian Learning Center on Double Springs Church Rd. Met with the head director of the Christian Learning Center. She stated that a Nissan Murrano was parked behind her building in the wood line. Made contact with the driver who has permission from the owners to hunt the land all ok.
  • Dispute, Hubbard St., male and female disputing over who was going to drive female to rehab. female wanted to driver herself, but the male did not trust her. female agreed to have her sister driver her, nothing further.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Hwy 11/West Vine St., Anonymous complainant stated a beige colored passenger vehicle was failing to maintain lane. Negative contact with the vehicle.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Piedmont Walton, Juvenile was not willing to get into the vehicle with mother.  After speaking to the juvenile, he left with the mother.  All ok.
  • Area Check, 4th St., reference to complainant calling because she thought someone was inside her attic. The attic was checked all ok.
  • Damage to Property, 6th St., complainant stated the back door to the residence was kicked in after they evicted tenant earlier this date. No items were taken as it was a vacant residence. Report taken
  • Dispute, Cook St., two subjects disputing verbally. Subjects are friends and were advised of remedies.
  • Traffic Stop, Glen Iris/East Marable St., Travarus Lewis was stopped for a suspended tag. Upon further investigation, he also had a suspended license. He was arrested and released on citation, report taken.
  • Burglary in Progress, Fleeting Way, Residents stated they heard someone in their garage. Conducted an area check and observed no signs of entry or evidence of a burglary.
