MPD Reports: Mental health issues, entering autos and complaint over Church Street construction

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 1 – 8, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Dispute – North Broad Street: subject on location intoxicated and disputing with staff and fellow tenants. Parties advised to separate. 

Lost Item – Gatewood Way a lost driver’s license. Complainant wanted to let the police know she lost her license about two weeks ago and did not ask for a report. 

Loud Music – W. Marable St. – neighbors disputing over how loud the music was playing. they were asked to keep other neighbors in mind when they were outside lessening to music outside. 

Suspicious Vehicle – Tigers Way. Contact was made with parents of juveniles on roadway riding ATV’s. Remedies advised. 

Dispute – Chestnut Ln & Claywill Cir. – In reference to a couple having a verbal argument. Parties separated. 

Civil Issue -Southside – a complainant saying that his sister was asking about death benefits from their late mother. He wanted a report done. Report taken. 

Loitering – Hammock Park. In reference to juveniles in park after hours. Eight citations issued along with parents of juveniles cited for parental responsibility. 

Shoplifting – WalMart – Subject also has a criminal trespass against her from this location as well as a warrant for her arrest. She was charged and transported to jail. 

Dispute – Gatewood Dr. Boyfriend and girlfriend arguing. Parties separated. 

Enter Auto Report – Plaza Dr. – In reference to some entering the complainant’s vehicle and taking items 4 days ago. report taken. 

Suspicious Vehicle – Glen Iris. In reference to vehicle in yard with truck open. Contact made with owner. All OK. 

Dispute – Lander St. Ongoing dispute between resident and subject. Complainant stated subject threatened complainant with a handgun. Contact was made with subject and complaint was unfounded. 

Dispute – McDaniel St – In reference to husband being kicked out of the house by his wife. Wife is going through dementia. Husband was advised on the mental evaluation process. 

Burglary – N. Broad Street; Valero. Store entered at some point during the night. Scene turned over to CID.

EMS Assist – N. Midland Avenue. In reference to a female slumped over the wheel, all ok. 

Dispute – Lacy Street. Dispute between a subject and her mother over child custody. Mediated and separated. 

Burglary – Tanglewood Drive: Subject being unsatisfied with repairs made to his apartment. No Burglary occurred. 

Damaged Property – Bryant Rd at Athens Tech: In reference to someone throwing paint on \to tractor trailers. 

Agency Assist – DFACS – Towler St. In reference to complainant possibly being sexually abused. Report taken. CID notified. 

Warrant Attempt – Tall Oaks Ln. Subject was arrested for probation violation and transported to WC jail after being fingerprinted. 

Shoplifting – W. Spring Street; Walmart. Female subject was cited, fingerprinted, and released. 

Dispute – Subject experiencing a medical episode due to being bipolar and arguing with people on location. Situation resolved. 

Theft – East Church St; Exceptional Community Services. In reference to approximately 60 prescription pills taken from the upstairs office. Report taken. 

Threats – W. Spring Street; Moe’s. Report of a previous employee making vague threats and driving by the business after being fired. No report requested. 

Damage to Property – S. Broad Street; MPD. Complainant reported damage to his vehicle after striking curbs in the marked construction area on Church Street on 10-3-2020. 

Dispute – S. Broad Street; Dollar General. Female subject on location causing issues for employees by yelling and cussing. Subject was advised to leave the location.
