MPD Reports: Mental health; threats; entering autos and domestic disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period May 7 – 14, 2020. Due to the length of the report, it has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Person – Piedmont Walton. Staff called for police to remove a patient who was discharged several hours prior and wouldn’t leave. Patient left on foot. 
  • Fight – Lacy St. Caller stated that 50 plus people were in the road fighting. Upon arrival a group of people were on location playing tag all ok at this time, no fight.
  • Dispute – Woodland Road. Civil dispute over property they were advised how to handle.
  • Disturbing the Peace – Mears St at Lawrence St. In reference to a construction crew working late and bothering neighbors. Crew was asked to finish for the night and left.
  • Other law – Barrett St. and Boulevard. Complainant stating that his friend sprayed him in the mouth with a fire extinguisher. He refused EMS and was advised to call 911 if he needed medical help.
  • Alarm – Pine Cir. All doors and windows secure. All OK.
  • Fraud – S. Broad St. Ref to paying money for a puppy from Craigslist and never receiving dog.
  • Warrant Service – W. Marable St. Ref to Billy Murphy arrested for four outstanding Walton County Sheriff’s Office warrants.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – W. Spring St. and Highway 138. Reference a white box truck failing to maintain lane. Area searched with negative contact.
  • Suspicious Person – Davis St. in reference to a subject on location who had a criminal trespass warrant. He was taken to jail.
  • Threats – E. Marable St. Complainant wanted to file a report because her ex-boyfriend made threats to harm her. The couple have not been together in over 10 years.
  • Dispute – Plaza Dr. Parties Separated. Report taken
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St., Wal-Mart. A female subject was taken into custody for approximately $50 worth of merchandise. She was issued a citation and criminal trespass notice and was released on copy.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St., Quality Foods. A subject stole items from store. Citation and Criminal Trespass Warning issued.
  • Gun – E. Church St., Chestnut Cupboard. Third party advised of a tan passenger car occupied by a b/m and a b/f both of whom had guns sitting in their laps. Area Searched with negative contact.
  • Mental patient – Bold Springs Ave. Subject was GOA, unknown direction of travel or unknown description of clothing. Complainant was advised when the subject returns home to call 911.
  • Sexual Assault – Magnolia Ter. – In reference to the complainant advising that her juvenile son had been sexually assaulted by another juvenile. It was also alleged that the suspect juvenile has also been the subject of sexual assault by another older juvenile. Report taken and CID notified.
  • Assault – Old Mill Point – Circulated the area, no assault observed. No subjects were outside. Called in by a third party who did not wish to meet. All appeared OK.
  • Domestic Dispute – Ridge Rd – Complainant and his girlfriend got into a verbal argument over relationship issues. Report taken
  • Dispute – Walker Dr. – In reference to a neighbor reporting that his neighbors were arguing. Homeowner advised everything was ok and it was just the kids playing. Everything appeared ok.
  • Domestic Dispute – Booth St: Dispatch advised they heard a female screaming over the 911 call. Upon arrival witness stated parties left the scene in a 2017 White Nissan Altima. Area was checked, negative contact. Report taken.
  • Entering Auto – 6th St. Complainant advised her 2002 Tahoe had been gone through. there was a gift taken from inside which was intended for her mother in-law. Report taken
