MPD Reports: Missing person located, report of shots fired, suicidal thoughts and disputes dominate

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 12 – 18, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest and charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Person, Hill St., reference to a W/M with tatts, walking in the area. Named male subject advised he was walking to Nowell Street.
  • Suspicious Person, Roberts St., reference to a W/M walking back and forth. Officers made contact with the subject and he was given an escort to Green Acres.
  • Unknown Problem/Fight, Glen Iris Dr., The complainant advised a B/M and W/F were physically disputing in a blue Dodge Magnum. The Dodge Magnum was gone towards East Marable St. Officers had negative contact.
  • Damage to Property, Pine Park St., reference to complainant reporting damage to the windshield of his 2014 Nissan Altima. Complainant also advised there was damage to one of his tires. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person, North Broad St., Waffle House, reference to a white male walking into the female bathroom and employee area. W/M identified as a male subject who was listed missing by Walton County Sheriff’s Office earlier this date. The subject was transferred over to his family.
  • Suspicious Person, South Broad St., Chevron, reference to a named male subject possibly being on location. The complainant advised dispatch of a black male fitting male subjects’ description on location in a yellow Camaro with black strips. The subject was GOA towards the city. An area check was conducted with negative contact.
  • Dispute, Walton Circle, reference to brothers verbally disputing. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Spring St., reference to subjects disputing in a Jeep Cherokee. The Jeep Cherokee was GOA.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Spring St., Bank of America, reference to the caller being run off the road.  The caller wanted to meet at the Bank of America but was gone upon arrival.
  • Assist Citizen, Vine St., reference to three kids being locked out of the residence. Found a window and opened it. One of the kids climbed in and unlocked the door. Everything is ok now.
  • Suspicious Person, Woodland Rd., reference to seeing a black male riding a bike in the area. Negative contact with the person.
  • Meet the complainant, 6th St., complainant wanting to report suspicious activity at above address.
  • Suicidal Thoughts, South Broad St., Chevron, reference to a male subject having Suicidal thoughts and wanted help.  He was transported to Piedmont Walton.
  • Suspicious Activity, Rosewood Lane, reference to hearing someone banging on the front door.  Negative contact with anyone around the residence.  Advised to call back if she hears it again.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, MLK Jr Blvd., Longhorns, reference to a gray in color Honda that appeared to have been tampered with. Officer made contact with the driver and all was ok.
  • Theft, East Church St., complainants advised a black slim PlayStation 4 with two controllers was taken from inside the residence sometime between 0100 hours and 1030 hours this date. A possible suspect is one of the resident’s granddaughters and her friend. Subjects possible left the area in a newer model white GMC truck with an Arizona tag. The serial number could not be provided for the game console at this time.
  • Theft, South Madison Ave., Felker Park, reference to a cell phone. The complainant called back and advised the cell phone had been located.
  • Scam, South Broad St., complainant received a phone call from New York advising he owed the IRS money, or he would be arrested. He was advised this was a scam. He did not provide any personal information. Remedies advised.
  • Meet with Officer/Armed Robbery, Kendall Court, reference to complainant wanting an Officer to speak with her nephew about gang activity. The nephew told Officers he was robbed at gunpoint last date and his phone was taken from him in the area of West Creek Circle. Report taken, and CID was notified.
  • Theft, Bold Springs Ave., complainant advised his trailer tag (GA tag # given) went missing, possibly stolen, sometime between Friday Oct. 5 and Friday Oct. 12. In addition, his 4-ball hitch was stolen last date possibly between 1800 and 2000 hours. Tag was placed on GCIC.
  • Assault, West Spring St., Piedmont Walton, reference to a female subject being assaulted. She advised she started the altercation and did not need any assistance.
  • 911 Hang Up, South Broad St., A physical altercation occurred between female and her husband. No physical evidence or third-party witnesses and conflicting stories. Parties were separated.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Walker Dr./Alcovy St., reference to a gold minivan driving reckless. Officer made contact with the vehicle on Douglas Street. The driver stated the tires on the front of the vehicle are bad and advised it made the vehicle hard to drive. She was advised of remedies. Everything ok.
  • Discharge Firearm, Plaza Dr., complainant reported hearing two shots below his residence and observed to black males with short hair running from the area.  Negative contact with the individuals.
  • Juvenile complaint, Wheeler St., met with a complainant regarding approximately 3 black male juveniles knocking on his door and then running away.
  • EMS Assist, GW Carver, 81-year-old was found deceased.  Walton County Coroner was contacted.
  • Suicidal Person in the area of Alcovy St./Breedlove Dr., reference to a male subject threatening to cause harm to himself with a gun. Contact made with the subject sitting outside of Ridgeview in the parking lot, unarmed. After a lengthy conversation subject voluntarily committed himself into Ridgeview while officers stood by on scene.
  • Suspicious Vehicle in the area of Alcovy St./Vine St., reference to a vehicle on the side of the road with no taillights.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Spring St., Walmart, reference to two infants inside a blue Ford Expedition, while not running. The vehicle left prior to police arrival. Tag# given.
  • Dispute, North Broad St., reference to a black male coming in and talking down to the store owner’s wife. Could not locate the male at this time advised him to call back when he comes in.
  • Agency Assist, East Washington St., reference to making contact with a male subject for Walton County. Got in contact with his mother who was going to attempt to make contact.
  • Dispute, South Broad St., reference to two subjects have a verbal dispute.  Situation mediated.
  • Domestic, Sorrells St., two subjects had a disagreement.  Stated they solved the dispute prior to officer’s arrival.
  • Assist Citizen, West Spring St., reference to a patient being released and not having a lift.  Taken to Loganville Racetrack at his request.
  • Dispute, Towler St., two subjects had a dispute over responsibilities on caring for their 10-month-old child.
  • Dispute, East Church St., Deltron Tuggle was arrested for disorderly conduct during a dispute with a female subject.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Lopez Lane, spoke to complainant who advised a red Cadillac was in front of the residence playing loud music.  Vehicle was GOA.  All ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Towler St., reference to two motorcycles driving reckless up and down the street. Negative contact.
  • Harassment, Longhorns, reference to an ex-boyfriend on location harassing an employee.  Male subject was gone upon officers arrival.  All ok
  • Juvenile Complaint, Wheel House Lane, reference to kids walking around the area.  Checked the area with Negative contact with any kids out.
  • Dispute, Waffle House, two subjects had an altercation over the check.  One subject wanted a report.  Parties separated.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Birch St., reference to two black vehicle driving up and down the road. Complainant advised two Honda Accords and a white SUV had been driving around the area for the past two hours.  Officer patrolled the area and had negative contact with anyone.
  • Suspicious Person, Birch St., complainant stated people with hoodies were walking in the street.  Negative contact. Complainant suffers from paranoia and hasn’t been taking his medication.
  • Entering Auto, Wheelhouse Lane, Complainant reported work equipment stolen from his work van overnight that he left unlocked.
  • Suspicious Person, West Spring St., Piedmont Walton, reference to male subject verbally disputing with staff. He was given a ride to McDonalds.
  • Civil Issue, Spruce Lane, complainant wanted an Officer to stand-by while she retrieved property. Father advised she wasn’t getting the property until he saw his daughter. She was advised of remedies.
  • Shot Fired, Turner St., upon arrival everything was ok no shot being fired. Gathering at the residence and spoke to the homeowner. Advised him to keep the party under control and keep the parking to allow an ambulance to come through.
