MPD Reports: More juvenile mischief and entering auto warrant pickup on 11-year-old

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period July 5 – 11, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Follow Up – Police Department. The complainant stated someone threw a rock at her vehicle on Hwy 78. She wanted to let an Officer know so the area could be patrolled. 
  • Suspicious Person – Walgreens S. Broad St. Subject requesting transport ref: a voluntary mental evaluation. Turned over to EMS.
  • Animal Complaint – Dollar General S. Broad in reference to a snake being by the door. The caller advised the snake had left the area and was advised to call a pest control if it came back.
  • Dispute – Overlook Crest. The caller stated her husband took her phone and ID and left. He told her he wanted her out of the house when he came back. She asked for advice on what she could do. The temporary Protection Order process was explained as well as the eviction process. The male was gone when officers arrived.
  • Plane Crash – Monroe Airport. One subject transported to Piedmont Walton. Turned over to Criminal Investigation Division and night shift. Jason Nunnally was the pilot of a plane that crashed inside the airfield shortly after takeoff. He was transported to Piedmont Walton Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Federal Aviation Administration and Criminal Investigation Division were notified and responded to the scene.
  • Car Chase – Norris St @ Radford St; Two juveniles were involved in a highspeed vehicle pursuit in a vehicle that was stolen from one of the juvenile’s mother. Both subjects were later apprehended at Radford St. One juvenile was transported to RYDC and the other juvenile was released to his mother.
  • Sexual Assault – S Broad St – Monroe Police Department in reference to complainant advising her 13-year-old daughter is sexually active with an adult. She requested charges be filed. Criminal Investigations Division was notified.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Highland Creek Dr. in reference to an abandoned Ford Windstar (GA tag QAK6274). The van was reported stolen out of Gwinnett County. The van was towed by Jay’s.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – in the undeveloped subdivision on East Church Street next to Carver Middle School. Subjects were shooting a video for Youtube.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Birch St. in reference to 11-year-old juvenile on location with a valid entering auto warrant. He was arrested and turned over to Walton County Juvenile Court.
  • Dispute – E Washington St – Post Office in reference to subject disputing with the postmaster over a late package. The situation was mediated subject was advised of remedies. All ok.
  • Road Blocked – Kings Ridge in reference to a tree and power lines down. Turned over to MFD. Damage to Property – G W Carver Dr. in reference to a hit and run accident. Report taken.
  • Dispute – Old Mill Point in reference to complainant stating the children from another residence are coming into her yard and harassing her grandkids. The situation was mediated. Parties advised of remedies.
  • Hit & Run – S. Hammond Dr. Driver struck the vehicle and left location. Owner of the struck vehicle was unaware of the vehicle that struck her. Report taken.
  • Welfare Check – King St. in reference to third party caller. Concerned about her daughter who has stage 4 cancer.
  • Disturbance – N. Broad St. in reference to the intoxicated person causing disturbance inside. He was sent on his way. Late GCIC return from Dispatch Showed Stat 1 for VOP Savannah with no extradition. All ok.
  • Dispute) 226 North Midland Ave. – Two subjects disputing over living arrangements. Advised of the eviction process.
  • EMS Assist – W. Spring St. at Los Three Amigos – In reference to a 97-year-old male passed out in front of the cash register. Turned over to EMS.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Millstone Bluff. Complainant stated that her son was playing at a neighbor’s house, when his shoes were taken by juveniles. Juveniles denied taking property. Parents were not on location. Follow up requested for a later date. Report taken.
  • Fight – Monroe Estates Basketball Courts. Told 100 people fighting. Officer was in area when dispatched and diverted from the juvenile call. Had no contact with any fight.
  • Threats – Marable Lane – Complainant said after a verbal argument subject made a threat to her.
  • Dispute – S. Side MHP between Complainant and his wife. Advised of options. All ok.
  • Suspicious Person – Tanglewood Lane – in reference to juveniles knocking on doors. Gone on arrival. Request extra patrols.
