MPD Reports: Officer called to smell drink from restaurant due to it allegedly being ‘spoiled’

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period 9 – 16, 2020. Due to the length, this report was split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Suspicious Person – W. Spring St. (Waffle House) in reference to subject lying in the grass next to the roadway. Subject was transported to Piedmont Walton for a mental evaluation. 

Harassing Communication – W. Spring St. (Pizza Hut): In reference to complainant having questions in regards to social Media postings. Complainant was explained the civil processes. All Okay. 

Dispute – Walker Dr. -Complainant called in reference to her brother violating a court order. Contact made with subject, he advised the children were at a babysitters residence prior to his arrival. DFACS notified in reference to living conditions. Report taken 

Stolen Vehicle – W. Spring St. (Haven Inn) in reference to the complainant having her vehicle taken by a named subject earlier this date. Vehicle entered onto GCIC. 

Animal Complaint – Gatewood Way: In reference to a stray dog that appears to be injured. Animal Control notified by dispatch. 

Theft – Victory Dr. in reference to a subject blaming another for stealing his medication and pressure washer. After interviewing complainant the Pressure washer was not his and it belonged to the subject. The medication was stolen several days ago. He declines a report. 

Damage to Property – Wheel House Ln: In reference to damage to a vehicle. Report made. 

Suspicious Vehicle – Vine St -Walton County Sheriff’s Office called in reference to a black cutlass driving aggressively and speeding. Vehicle observed parked unoccupied at a residence on W. Vine St. 

Lost Item – Great Oaks Dr. (Cocina Fuentes) in reference to a purse left last date with firearm inside. 

Dispute – S .Broad St. in reference to receiving spoiled food from Wendy’s. Complainant said her drink smells bad and she wanted an Officer to smell her drink to prove it smelt. Complainant was told to call the management. 

Welfare Check) 2050 West Spring Street (Wal-Mart): In reference to a 9-year-old juvenile left in the vehicle unsupervised. Made Contact with a juvenile, the vehicle was running with the air conditioner on. All Okay. 

Damage to Property – W. Spring St. (Walmart) in reference to complainants’ vehicle being struck in the parking lot. 

Agency Assist – Walker Dr. in reference to assisting DFCS with a welfare check on juveniles due to poor living conditions. 

Harassment – W. Spring St.Pizza Hut. in reference to former employees harassing the manager. Management was explained their options. 

Warrant Attempt – 3rd St. in reference to a subject on location and caller advised he had warrants for his arrest. Jail advised they would not place a hold on the charges and would not accept the subject. 

Damage to Property – Hillcrest. Spoke with caller over the phone she advised that his boyfriend had broken her cell phone 3 days ago and wanted to know how to take him to court. 

Agency Assist – Walker Dr. Reference to DFACS requesting units return to address to assist in assuming custody of three juveniles. Mother of juveniles refused to allow usage of child safety seats. WCSO contacted and responded with appropriate safety seats. 

Threats – W. Creek Cir. Reference to complainant receiving threats through Facebook from someone posing as her uncle. Complainant denied a report. Remedies advised. 

Suspicious Vehicle – Felker Park. Juveniles in park after dark. Sent on their way.

Suspicious Vehicle – Wells Fargo ATM. Reference to female on location feeding cats. All Ok 

Dispute – Booth Rd. In reference to a subject choking complainant and attempting to set occupied residence on fire. After several hours of searching and observation, he was taken into custody after a foot chase. Warrants taken for Aggravated Assault and Arson in the 1st. 

Unknown – Heritage Ridge. Intoxicated female on location called 911. She advised she did not need help and was going to sleep. 

Suspicious Person – E. highland & N. Midland. In reference to white male running through yards. Area searched with negative contact. 

Suspicious person – Pinecrest Dr. Caller advised of three young females wearing a white dress, where seen walking around. Conducted an area check no contact. 

hase/Agency Assist – vehicle pursuit from Barrow County. Vehicle entered City Limits and wrecked out on Old Athens Hwy. MPD assisted with perimeter on James Huff and Grattis Rd. 

Entering Auto – E.Church St. in reference to a black male wearing red shorts and blue book bag entering a vehicle. When officers arrived he was gone on foot down Ash Street 

Entering Auto – East Church St. Complainant reported catching an unknown person in his unlocked vehicle. Persons ran towards Ash St. Area checked with no contact. 

Agency assist – HW78 and Unisia Dr. Assisted Barrow and Walton SO’s with perimeter after vehicle chase and accident. After a k9 track, the purp was arrested and turned over to Barrow County Sheriff’s Office.
