MPD Reports: Man reportedly jumping in front of vehicles, driver’s side window shot

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 13 – 20, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Civil Issue – Michael Cir. In reference to complainant stating that her husband had taken their son and refused to return him. We advised her of the civil process to gain full custody along with other remedies.
  • Mental person – Breedlove Dr. Staff advised that one of the nurses had locked herself in the bathroom for the past 3 hours. Made contact with the nurse she advised she was ok and that she had a cut to her face that she was taking care of. She refused EMS, stated she would drive herself.
  • Child Custody – S. Broad St., MPD. The complainant advised her child was taken by the child’s grandfather early this date. The complainant was advised the incident was a civil issue.
  • Dispute – Alcovy St. in reference to complainant wanting an officer to escort her to a residence off of HD Atha Rd. Turned over to Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Theft Report – E. Church St., Jack Peters. Reference to a complainant having his wallet stolen off the counter by an unknown b/m who was last seen walking in the area of Davis St.
  • Welfare Check – Harris St. In reference to the complainants’ neighbor having health issues and not being seen for a few days. The complainant was able to make contact with the neighbor. All ok
  • Suspicious person – in the area of HW138 and the Alcovy river bridge. Ref to a w/m attempting to jump in front of moving vehicles. Area searched with negative contact.
  • Theft report – S. Madison Ave., Felker Park. Reference to a stolen purse. All was found except Chili’s gift card. report taken.
  • Damage to property – Pine Knoll. Complainant advised that someone shot the driver side window of her mother’s vehicle during the night time hours of last date. Report taken. Criminal Investigation Division notified.
  • Harassment – Sporty Ln. Complainant advised her landlord has been harassing her and coming into her home without her permission. Report taken.
  • Suspicious vehicle – White Oak Dr. Reference to two vehicles parked in the cul de sac blocking the school bus. Contact made with the owner at White Oak Dr. who were asked to move their vehicles.
  • Fraud – W. Spring St., BB&T Bank. Complainant advised he provided all of his personal information to a fake BB&T employee from a spam caller.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Tall Oaks E. Reference to a b/m on a dirt bike. The subject advised not to drive on the roadway.
  • Welfare check – Booth Dr. 3rd party advised of b/f off her meds punching holes in the walls. Negative contact at the residence.
  • Shoplifting – E. Spring St In reference to a subject stealing 2 Redbulls, 1 bag of chips, and a bag of trail mix. The subject was gone on arrival. Report taken. Officers will conduct a follow up on next date.
  • Dispute – Mears St.- Complainant advised her son was smoking marijuana in the back yard and she did not him at her residence any longer. Her son was gone on arrival. Officers patrolled the area and had negative contact.
  • Dispute – Mill Stone Bluff in reference to complainant wanting to get his belongs out of his mothers’ residence. Was gone on arrival. Was advised on the eviction process. All ok
  • Dispute – Magnolia Terrace. The complainant and her boyfriend got into a verbal dispute over being rude to her. The boyfriend was advised she asked to leave for the night.
