MPD Reports: Plane towed after landing with no landing gear

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Sept. 5 – 12, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Domestic – W. Spring St. – Reference sisters disputing and one sister not being able to locate the other. Called back and advised they located the missing sister. Asked to obtain a residential address to check on all parties and was unable to re-establish connection with the caller. 
  • Vehicle Collison – Marable Lane – In reference to two vehicle collision no injury. Passenger of Vehicle #2, had probation warrant from Walton County Sheriff’s Office. He was arrested and transported to Detention Center.
  • Theft – Sweetgum Dr.: In reference to complainant having $250 dollars come up missing. Report taken.
  • Down Airplane – Richard Parsons Dr. – In reference to William Scott failing to put landing gear down. Airplane landed with no landing gear. No injury. FAA and CID notified. Plane towed by Taylor’s.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St. at Burger King; Complainant reported the manager refused to give her a refund, acted unprofessionally, and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Situation mediated.
  • Dispute – Ash St. Subject was intoxicated and got into a dispute with a guest of the neighbor. Situation mediated.
  • Meet with – Rosewood Ln; In reference to a man requesting officers PBT his ex-wife before he dropped off their children. The mother was not intoxicated and refused PBT.
  • Disturbing the Peace – Cloverdale Dr. – Large block party blocking the road. Party was disbursed.
  • Illegal Parking – Chestnut Lane and Clay Will Cir; Large party on location leaving the roadway impassable for Fire and EMS personnel. Subjects began moving vehicles when the tow truck arrived.
  • Threats – E. Spring St. – In reference to subject posting Facebook Live video with harassing comments about complainant. Complainant advised on options.
  • Mental – S. Broad St. (Southside Park): Complainant stating that his wife has dementia and having a episode. Turned over to EMS.
  • Theft – W. Washington St.: Complainant stated his electric dark colored Trek mountain bike with a hub motor was taken sometime between 0600 and 1200 hours this date. Possible suspect. Report taken.
  • Drug Activity – Tall Oaks E.: In reference to complainant smelling what she believes to be marijuana coming from her neighbors at Tall Oaks E. Complainant wanted it to be documented. Report taken.
  • Domestic Dispute – Vine St.: In reference to subject and her mother getting into a verbal argument. Parties separated. Report taken.
  • Dispute – Baron Dr. – In reference to vehicle parked just over parking spot close to complainant’s walkway. Vehicle broke down but pushed back onto the driveway.
  • Suspicious vehicle – Tigers Way. Caller stated that there was a vehicle that kept driving and parking in front of their house. When they attempted to make contact with the driver the male yelled at them and stated he was going to run them over. Conducted an area check was unable to locate the vehicle.
