The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 22 – 29, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Agency Assist – Meadow Walk Dr – In reference to Newton County Sheriff’s Officer asking officer to make contact at this residence, no contact was made. No one appeared to be on location.
Suspicious Person – N Broad St – In reference to vehicle being damage, area checked, all appeared ok.
Damage to property – Plaza Dr. at Family Dialysis vehicle running over a deer and was stuck under her car. Deer was removed. No damage was done, no report needed.
Traffic Stop – Unisia Drive and Highway 78. WCSO conducted a traffic stop in reference to a previous hit and run incident.
Suspicious Vehicle – N. Broad Street; City Hall. In reference to a vehicle with an unrestrained juvenile. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was given a verbal warning.
Warrant Attempt – Ridge Road. Assisted CID in a warrant attempt, no contact with wanted person.
Shoplifting – West Spring Street; Walmart. Subject arrested and fingerprinted for shoplifting. Report made.
Suspicious Person – S. Broad Street at Dollar General. in reference to three subjects in the store throwing items. Spoke with manager who wanted them gone. They were told to leave and not to come back.
Damage to Property – Carwood Drive. Complainant wanted case number from previous call. Case number was provided.
Scam – Felker Street. In reference to complainant receiving a $1,700 check.
Theft Report – Jessica Way. in reference to a black huffy bike that was taken from residence last date. Report was done. Case number given.
Other Law – Page St. – In reference to Taylor’s Towing needing a tag ran before they towed a vehicle.
Alarm – W. Spring Street at BB&T. Area checked, all ok
Damage to Property – N Broad St. Wow Express. In reference to the car wash knocking both mirrors off the complainant’s vehicle. Call was canceled prior to police arrival.
Dispute – W Spring St; Quality Foods – Two parties disputing over a vehicle. Both parties are on the title to the vehicle, and were advised of civil remedies.
Suspicious Vehicle – Michael Etchison Rd at Hwy 138. In reference to a white Dodge truck failing to maintain their lane. Complainant advised they lost contact with the vehicle. Negative contact with subject, the area was checked.
Threats – W Fambrough St. Two parties advised an unknown male threatened them due to nearly being in an accident with one another. They were unable to give a tag number for the vehicle the subject was driving. Report taken.
Unknown Law – Lopez Ln. In reference to a male caller advising possible child abduction, 12-year-old female. Negative contact with anyone at home.
Other Law – Heritage Trce. Subject who is on an ankle monitor and wants to leave the residence. Officer’s spoke with subject, and mediated the situation.
Civil Issue – Unisia Dr. Hitachi. In reference to a civil dispute over a vehicle. Complainant that she is the sole registered owner of the vehicle and her ex-boyfriend has been making payments on the vehicle since July. Vehicle returned to complainant’s possession. Civil remedies were advised. The ex boyfriend was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Barrow County.
Multiple calls on Lacy Street due to fights. Officers stayed in the area for extended periods of times throughout the night.
Fight – Lacy St. In reference to 50 people with firearms. In reference to guns being discharged and subjects fighting in the street. (2) Shell casings were recovered and placed into evidence. Nobody on scene wanted to be cooperative with officers. Report taken.
Dispute – W Spring St. McDonald’s. In reference to a white male driver in a green van refusing to leave the drive thru. The complainant advised the male is arguing with an employee over door dash. Subject was gone upon Officer arrival.
Fight – Pine Park St. A named suspect struck (2) victims with a wooden stick. Both victims advised they want to press charges. Two warrants taken on Mr. Reed for OCGA 16-5-21 Agg. Assault.
EMS Assist – Parkway Pl. In reference to a 60-year-old female, unconscious and unresponsive. Subject on location was sick, and transported by EMS. All ok.
Lost Item – Double Springs Church Rd. MAHS. In reference to lost car keys. Complainant located their keys in the grass near the student parking lot. All ok.
Firearms – Pine Park St. In reference to the complainant advising that they heard 6 shots in the area. A named subject discharged (2) gun shots in the hole on Pine Park St. He was taken into custody for OCGA 16-5-60 Reckless conduct and was transported to the WCSO jail without incident. Warrant taken.
Welfare Check – Sporty Ln Complainant unable to get in touch with her son via telephone. Made contact with the complainant’s son and he advised everything was ok. Complainant’s son contacted his mother via telephone while officer was on scene.
