MPD Reports: Prowler was just neighbor digging for fishing worms; mental issues and domestic disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Jan. 23 – 30, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – Overlook Crest. in reference to a civil issue over property rights. Subject and his mother had questions over rights to the home and possible Temporary Protection Order or eviction. Options were explained. 
  • Prowler – Gliding Lane in reference to homeowner claiming someone attempting to gain entry via the back door. Negative contact. Advised to not engage the suspect, and contact police in the future.
  • Prowler – Gliding Land. Caller stated somebody was trying to get into the home through a back window. No signs of attempted entry or any person in the area. All ok.
  • Stolen Auto – Lacy Street in reference complainant claimed that a named subject stole her vehicle. During the investigation, the complainant knew the subject and was placed under arrest in her vehicle and her vehicle was impounded.
  • Fraud report – S. Broad St. in reference to a customer using fraudulent checks. Made contact with the subject who was in possession of suspected fraudulent check. Report done, pending investigation and verification of fraudulent checks. S
  • uspicious Vehicle – Lakeview Dr. in reference to juveniles riding dirt bikes in the road. The Juvenile and the grandfather were given a warning.
  • Mental person – Carver Place in reference to subject thinks people are watching her.
  • Disturbance – E. Church St. in reference to a complainant reporting that her girlfriend burned her shoes. She decided to not press charges against her girlfriend and did not want a report.
  • Animal Complaint – Manor Lane: In reference to the pit bull back on location. Made contact with the owners who reside at S. Madison Ave. The pit bull went back into the yard through a hole in the fence.
  • Fight – S. Madison Ave. at Felker Park in reference to several subjects actively fighting on field #2. Subjects were arguing in the parking lot.
  • Mental person – Birch St. In reference to subject off his medications and causing a disturbance in his grandmothers’ house. Turned over to EMS for transport to Piedmont Walton.
  • Dispute – Alcovy St. In reference to a subject arguing with her boyfriend. She was arrested on a Gwinnett County failure to appear warrant.
  • Illegal parking – Maple Lane. In reference to a vehicle parked in handicap spots. Citation Issued.
  • Accident Pedestrian – W. Spring St., Walmart – Complainant, reported she was hit by a SUV backing out of a parking spot, on January 26, 2020, at approximately 2030 hrs. The video was checked but was unable to get a clear image of the incident or the make and model of the vehicle that hit her.
  • Harassment – S. Broad St. Complainant stated that the subject has been harassing her and requested a report be made for documentation. Report taken.
  • Prowler – Masters Dr. – Complainant reported someone was behind his house with a flashlight. Turns out it was just a neighbor digging for fishing worms. All ok.
  • Mental Subject – Holly Hill Rd, reference to subject stating that her mother was trying to harm her. Contact was made with the subject, all ok.
  • Hit and run – S. Broad St., Southside MHP. Complainant advised her car was struck last night at approximately 22:30 Hours. Report taken.
