The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the week July 30 to Aug. 3, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Disturbing the Peace – Chestnut Ln & East Spring St. Subject in the area riding a green dirt bike. Subject was advised of the city noise ordinance and the consequences of operating an unauthorized vehicle on the roadway. Subject was advised to ride the bike on the back trails and not in the neighborhood.
Dispute – Ash Lane. Subject on location, unaware of Bond conditions that were prevented him from being on location. Bond conditions were explained to subject, he left the area.
Fraud – East Spring Street – Dairy Queen. Employee was contacted via phone by a subject posing as a law enforcement officer requested money. Employee sent the subject money and realized it was a scam. Report taken
Theft – Atha Street in reference to a stolen Wallet. Subject advised his wallet was missing and requested a report. Wallet possibly taken in Douglasville
Dispute – Sycamore Court. Subject in a physical dispute with her mother. Mother advised daughter’s behavior was due to her mental illness and daughter was transported to Piedmont Walton.
Harassment – N. Madison Avenue. in reference to a subject coming on another’s property always asking for money, cigarettes. The property owner wants her to stay away. She was told to stay away from the house. All ok.
Escort – Ash Ln. Subject back on location to grab clothes and dog food. He was told to leave and not to come back four (X4) times yesterday unless it was scheduled with Walton County Sheriff’s Office civil division to retrieve his property due to bond conditions. He was told the same again.
Follow up – South Madison Ave., WCSO. Subject calling from the jail this time requesting to return to Ash Ln. Lt. with SO advised him to schedule it with SO civil or risk being arrested for violation of bond conditions if he goes back to the property.
Trespassing – Harris St. Subject on location after being barred back in July by an officer. Jail advised over the phone they would not accept subject even with a warrant. He was given citation and was released after fingerprints.
Dispute – West Spring St., Haven Inn. Subject and his girlfriend were arguing. Female advised everything was ok.
Entering Auto – Alcovy St., the Country Club. in reference to a purse stolen from complainants’ vehicle while she was playing golf. Forced entry was used. Report taken.
Escort – North Broad St., and Oak St. Ref to standing by while school supplies were handed out to children. Attempted contact with subject by phone and in person. Negative contact.
Loitering – Harris St. and Davis St. Terrance Brewer back on location, sent on his way.
Vehicle accident – Ash Ln and West Creek Cir. White passenger car v. telephone pole. Driver and passenger fled scene on foot. Vehicle was a rental and lease holder was on scene and advised she was not driving and that the vehicle was not stolen. The driver arrived on scene and was issued citations. Monroe Utilities responded due to damaged pole.
Harassment – Walker Dr. Subject advised ex girlfriend was harassing him, report taken.
Weapon – Davis St. Subject arrested for aggravated assault, possession of knife during felony and public intoxication.
Firearms – Cloverdale Rd. Person shot with BB gun, denied all medical treatment. Window also shot. Report taken.
Fraud/Harassment – E. Spring Street Room 119. In reference to social media. Complainant wanted to know their options about social media harassing. Remedies were advised. Temporary Protection Order process was also explained.
Harassment – Birch St. Complainant stated that he is having issues with an ex-girlfriend and her cousin who has been harassing him over Facebook. Remedies were advised. TPO process was also advised.
Entering Auto – W Spring St. In reference to $100 pair of sunglasses and damage to speaker. Occurred last night.
Dispute – S Broad St. In reference to complainant believes meth is on location and subjects at the residence that are not supposed to be there. No dispute occurred. Complainant wanted to advise officers of a trailer in the park is using illegal narcotics.
Dispute – E Marable St. In reference to complainant’s boyfriend has assaulted her in the past and is afraid that he will do it again. Complainant advised everything was ok and she just wanted her boyfriend to get help because he was drunk and she did not like him being drunk. Boyfriend refused to seek medical attention.
Damage to Property – Ridge Rd. In reference to damage to vehicle. In reference to a vehicle that received damage on Davis St. Report taken.
Suspicious Vehicle – W Spring St. Home Depot. Black Ford Mustang near the Benchmark Physical Therapy business, running with lights on and two female subjects inside the vehicle. Females advised that they were waiting for their brothers to return back to the vehicle. All ok.
