MPD Reports: Raccoons under the car and parts stripped from vehicle while owner incarcerated

The City o Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period July 19 – 25, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Road Rage – E. Spring St. – Popeyes Chicken in reference to female complainant reporting a white male subject in a tan Toyota making hand gestures at her. She advised that he stated she was following too close and stated he would shoot her. She stated the vehicle turned onto a side road and advised that she did not get the tag number. 
  • Suspicious Person – Tanglewood Dr. – In reference to someone knocking on the complainant’s windows. All okay.
  • Entering Auto in Progress – N. Midland Ave. – Jazaire Burgess and Bryson Griffieth were apprehended shortly after entering a Toyota Tacoma. A third unknown suspect is still at large.
  • Animal Complaint – Tall Oaks Lane in reference to the complainant having raccoons under her vehicle. The raccoons were gone on arrival. She was advised of remedies. All okay.
  • Suspicious Person – W. Spring St. – Huddle House in reference to a W/M lying on the ground across the street. Officers made contact with the subject who was sleeping on the sidewalk. He was sent on his way.
  • Damage to Property – Masters Dr. and Ammons Bridge Rd. in reference to the stop sign damaged. The damage indicated that it was struck by a vehicle. Monroe Public Works was notified. Report taken.
  • Warrant Served – Stovall Automotive. Michael Edmondson was arrested for a child support warrant out of Walton County and a probation violation warrant out of Gwinnett County.
  • Damage to Property – Spring St. / Midland Ave. in reference to a power pole. The damage was old. Monroe Utilities notified.
  • Animal Complaint – E. Church St. in reference to a canine struck by a vehicle. Canine was Dead on arrival. The neighbor advised that they would contact the owner.
  • Dispute – Harris St. Terrence Brewer on location drinking beer and causing a disturbance. Brewer was issued a criminal trespass notice and sent on his way.
  • Dispute / Violent – Douglas St. in reference to complainant stating his girlfriend pulled a knife out on him during an argument. The complainant was later unsure if it was a knife or a phone. Parties were arguing over a cigarette. Parties were separated.
  • Stolen Camper – Norris St. Two complainants advised that one of the complainants 1968 Phoenix Camper was stolen from Norris St. Multiple suspects involved. Report taken.
  • Unruly Juvenile – S. Madison Ave. 13-year-old juvenile being disobedient. The officer spoke to the child and all was okay.
  • Theft – 4th St. Complainant advised that subject stripped his green Ford Explorer for parts while he was incarcerated. Report taken.
  • Unknown – Victory Drive in reference to a dispute over a child. Turned over to DFACS.
  • Theft – Plaza Dr. Complainant stated that someone stole $36 worth of gas out of her vehicle and damaged the gas cap. Possible suspect’s name was given. Report taken.
  • DFCS Assist – Victory Dr. in reference to the removal of children from the home. All ok
  • Assault – Jack Peters E. Church St. It was reported by a third party that subject was assaulted by unknown male subjects. Subject had a small laceration to his left eyebrow but refused EMS. Subject stated he did not want to press charges and left with family members.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St. at Wal-Mart – Shamika Hillman was charged with misdemeanor Shoplifting. She was then turned over to Barrow County for a felony shoplifting warrant.
  • Suspicious Person – Walton Athletic 24 in reference to 3-4 males making female gym member feel uneasy. All ok.
  • Suspicious Persons – Harris St. In reference to an anonymous complainant stating two black male subjects were in her yard hitting her trash cans. Area check conducted. All okay.
