MPD Reports: Rape allegations, aggravated assault, suicide attempt, juvenile complaints & domestic disputes

The City of Monroe reported the following incidents for the period Nov. 16 – 24, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into three parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Agg. Assault, North Broad St., 17yo and 14 yo females picked up by Alonzo Mathis from one of the female’s residences in Social Circle and driven to Tanglewood Dr. to hang out. One female started getting nervous from Mathis’ behavior and they called 18-year-old female to pick them up. Mathis evidently does not like the 18-year-old and once she arrived, he pulled a gun on them and said he would rip her f_____ face off.  She drove away frightened. Probation heard radio traffic and advised Mathis has a 4th waiver. Probation received a tip he was at the Valero at North Broad St. Officer had contact and arrested him then transported him to his residence to search for the weapon.  Officer spoke with a Deputy with the Sex Offender Unit who learned that Mathis had not reported a change in employment.  Warrant to be taken on Mathis for Agg Assault (x3) and Enticing a Child (x2).
  • Dispute, East Washington St., met with the complainant who stated that she wanted to get her T.V. She advised that named subject will not answer her calls or open the door. I advised her the necessary steps to take.
  • Entering Auto, Sporty Ln., complainant stated that her vehicle had been gone through. She advised several items were missing. Report Made.
  • Theft report taken, Broad St., the complainant stated that they had some items come up missing from their carport on Etten Dr. last night. Report made.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Tyler St/Booth Dr. Deputy in an unmarked car attempted to stop a vehicle. The vehicle refused to stop. Deputy lost contact at East Marable/Glen Iris. Negative contact.
  • Suspicious Person, Walmart, unit was flagged down in reference to a white male running across the field. Contact was made with the male subject in the Hibbett sports parking lot. The subject stated that a group of people was giving him a hard time at Walmart and he was trying to get away. All ok.
  • Traffic Stop/Arrest, Hwy 78/George L Pike Rd -Bryan Quade arrested for Probation Violation warrants
  • Dispute, Cook Place, the complainant advised a friend was over that she wanted to leave.  Upon Officers arrival the male was gone.  All ok.
  • Traffic Stop/Arrest, Hwy 78/Jim Daws Rd -Roland Brown was stopped for traffic violations and arrested for Probation Violation Warrants.
  • Suspicious Person behind the Church on West Marable St., reference to male subject sleeping in a building behind the Church He stated that pastor let him stay there. The male subject was provided a room at the Haven Inn by FISH.
  • Traffic Stop/Arrest, Highway 78 W/Charlette Rowell Blvd. Ran Tag# and the drive associated with the vehicle returned with a warrant out of Lithonia PD. Arrest made, report taken.
  • Suspicious person, Thompson Rd. Ct., a male subject had went gone on the porch ringing the doorbell.  The subject was found on Michael Etchison.  He was looking for a friend.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Ash Ln., Bertha Crutchfield wanted to know what steps to take to against her granddaughter for being disrespectful. She was advised of the remedies.
  • Dispute, New Lacy St., the complainant was upset about the job his caregiver was doing.  Both subjects were drunk and advised to act like adults.
  • Domestic, Landers St., the complainant advised named male subject pushed her down and broke her front glass door with a rock. Incident was not domestic related. Complainant did not want to press charges. She was advised of the temporary protection order and warrant process. Report taken.
  • Civil Matter, South Madison Ave., complainant stated that named female subject keeps harassing her at public venues. She was told about the process of a TPO and a good behavior bond.
  • Suspicious Vehicle/Traffic Stop/Arrest, Highway 78 West, Tan Blazer FML. Robert Anglin arrested for DUI-Drugs less safe. Vehicle impounded by towing Co.  Refused drug evaluation. Jail refused Anglin due to pre-existing medical conditions. Anglin was released at the front of the jail on copy.
  • Stolen Vehicle, MLK Jr Blvd Longhorn, Met with the complainant. He stated that his 2006 Ford Super Duty with Ga Tag # was taken. Report Made.
  • Suspicious Person, Baker St., Made contact with the male subject who was visiting his grandmother. No active CT warning all ok at this time.
  • Burglary, Blain St., open door located on the back of the building.  Copper wire removed from the electrical room.  CID notified.
  • Juvenile Complaint, King St., kids throwing rocks and sticks. Contacted kids and their adult supervision. The kids retrieved the sticks from the neighbor’s property and apologized.
  • Domestic, Landers St., Montez Sims and another subject involved in a physical altercation. Sims arrested for Family Violence Battery.
  • Juvenile Complaint, South Broad St., complainant stated he observed two white teenagers attempt to enter a vacant trailer. Contact made with one juvenile who advised he recently moved from the trailer to one down the street and was making sure nothing was left on location. He was advised to contact the owner prior to returning to the trailer.
  • Threats, Towler St., reference to complainant finding food outside her residence earlier this date. The food was cleaned up earlier this date but wanted officers to be aware that she thinks it’s her upstairs neighbor. The complainant was advised that an area check will be conducted throughout the night.Suspicious Vehicle, Felker Park, Tan Honda Accord parked toward the back. Made contact with driver who was hanging out with another subject. Nothing further.
  • Vehicle Fire, T&D Cars -Two vehicles on fire, turned over to Monroe Fire Department. CID notified. Unknown cause of fire at this time.
  • Dispute, Storehouse Court, complainant called 911 because her mother wouldn’t allow her daughter’s boyfriend, inside the residence. The boyfriend has been staying on the location for 8 months. Mother was advised of legal means to get someone evicted. The boyfriend decided to leave with his family. Nothing further.
  • Dispute, Tall Oaks East., complainant advised a dispute did not occur and that she was wanting information in reference to the eviction process and TPO process.  The officer explained those to her.  All ok.
  • Dispute, Piedmont Walton, reference to complainant calling because his stepdaughter rolled down his window to his car while he was in the hospital.
  • Loud Music, Lopez Lane, Anonymous complainant stated his neighbor was playing loud music and disturbing the neighborhood. Contact made with residents moving out and advised them to turn the music down, all okay.
  • Suspicious person, Golden Pantry, an employee called in reference to a female subject sleeping in a vehicle. The subject was okay and advised to leave the area.
  • Rape, Cook St., 15-year-old juvenile stated she was currently running from a male subject who just raped her. After an extensive search of the area contact was made and male subject was detained as a suspect. CID responded.
  • Prowler, East Marable St., Anonymous complainant stated they heard knocking in the area of their residence. No description of subject. Conducted an area check with negative contact.
  • Warrant Served, reference to picking up Christopher Smith from Columbia County SO. Warrant served, report taken.
  • Unknown problem, N. Broad St., 12-year-old ran away from home on Nowell St.  Returned juvenile home and spoke to mom and step-dad who said the kids were fighting so they told them to go to their rooms. The 12-year-old took out the trash and then disappeared. The stepdad was walking the streets looking for the 12-year0old when I arrived. Declined a report.  Just wanted the 12-year-old to have a stern talking to.
  • Dispute, Cook St., Staley Malcom had been located in reference to an earlier incident.  Mr. Malcom had a warrant for probation violation.  he was placed under arrest and transported to the PD to speak with CID.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, East Washington St., complainant wanted to check on a maroon vehicle to make sure it was ok. It was ok.
  • Burglary, Milledge Ave., complainant reported between 11/16 and this date his shop was entered, and $15,000 worth of stereo equipment was taken. Report taken and evidence to be finger printed collected.
  • Welfare Check, Pinecrest Dr., the complainant stated that there were air soft gas canisters next to his mailbox. He was advised that the items were already used. He advised that he dispose of them.
  • Juvenile Complaint, South Madison, subjects on location using vulgar language while playing football. Spoke to subjects about their language.
  • Drug Activity, East Spring St., Kristy Leftdwrige arrested for possession less than an ounce and doc.  Also located a green pill that will be sent to GBI for testing.
  • Welfare Check, Hwy 78 truck stop.  Female with dementia did not know her husband driving the vehicle.  She was able to finally recognize her husband and they were sent on their way.
  • Theft, Tall Oaks West, reference to complainant purse being stolen from either in or on top of her vehicle in front of her residence. Report taken.
  • Welfare Check, Spruce Lane, reference to a juvenile arguing with his uncle. Juvenile’s mother came and picked him up all ok.
  • Burglary, Tanglewood Dr., reference to someone was breaking all the windows on the back side of the apartment.  No items were taken due to no valuables in the apartment. Complainant was notified due to this being an Arnold Property.  He advised he would take care of boarding up the residence. Two subjects were taken to Haven Inn due to the FISH getting them a room for the night.  Report Taken
  • Meet at GW Carver Dr., reference to meeting with Bails Bondsmen. Mr. Justin Tiller and Dedreamia Cummings were arrested. Report taken
  • Dispute, Vine St., reference to a possible dispute called in third party. Made contact with male subject who advised there was no dispute, and everything was ok.
  • Dispute, Glenwood Dr., reference to mother verbally and physically disputing with her son who was GOA. Report taken.
  • Dispute, New Lacy St., reference to complainant verbally disputing with her boyfriend over a hair net. Parties were separated.
  • Harassment reported at MPD, reference to complainant wanting to speak with an Officer over her daughter-in-law slandering her name on Facebook.
  • Meet with Officer, Baker St. building, Officers met with property manager in reference to serving male subject with a criminal trespass warning. Process was explained due to him visiting a resident on location.
  • Burglary in Progress, Landers St., negative on burglary. The resident advised the subject climbing through the window had permission.
  • Warrant Pick-up at Athens Clarke-County Jail in reference to Turkessa Sheats.
  • Dispute, Nowell St., two subjects were disputing over usage of a shared phone. Situation was mediated. All ok.
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., Walmart, Jammel Hopson was arrested for shoplifting. He was fingerprinted and released.

  • Suspicious Person, Horizon Court, reference to an older male entering the complainant’s backyard around 1530 hours this date. Mother wanted to inform police that her teenage daughter witnessed an older W/M approximately in his late 50s to early 60s with a big belly and receding hair line wearing khaki pants and a brown sweater attempt to enter their backyard. The daughter confronted the male and he advised he was looking around. All ok at this time.
  • Traffic Stop, Hwy 78, Edmondson Rd., Tyler Phillips stopped for traffic violation.  A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, and Mr. Phillips was found to be in possession of 9 grams of heroin, 1.5 grams of methamphetamine, loaded syringe and a digital scale.  Mr. Phillips was arrested and charged with trafficking heroin and possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.  He was turned over to the Walton County Jail without incident.
  • Dispute, Atha St., complainant wanted female subject removed from her property due to her erratic behavior.  Female subject was issued a criminal trespass warning and was given a ride to the Hwy 78 Truck Stop to wait for a ride from Augusta.
  • Burglary, Reed Way, complainant states he came home and his rear window was busted out and an old stereo was missing
  • Suicide Attempt, Kingsbridge Dr., female subject was found unconscious but still breathing by her husband this morning. It is believed she took prescription medication and anti-freeze. Female was transported to Piedmont Walton.
  • Suspicious Person, South Broad St., reference to a B/M in his mid-twenties bothering employees last date asking for money and following them to their cars. Extra patrol requested.
  • 911 Hang Up, North Broad St., Golden Pantry, employees advised of a male on location arguing with the clerk. The male was GOA. All ok.
  • Traffic Stop on Highway 78W, reference to driver stopped for No Insurance on a 2011 Kia Sorento GA #. Vehicle was removed by towing co. and driver was released on copy
  • Traffic Stop, South Broad, Trading Place, driver stopped for no insurance on a 2011 Nissan Versa, Vehicle was removed by towing co and driver was released on copy.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Fawnfield Dr., reference to a blue Chrysler PT Cruiser parked in front of complainant’s residence for a few months. Resident on Meadow Walk Drive stated the vehicle belonged to her cousin and it was broken down. They were advised to have the vehicle moved by the weekend.
  • 911 Hang Up at Booth Dr., Officer checked the area and could not locate the building. That number is not a valid address. Second call in two days.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, North Midland Ave., reference to a Buick LaSabre (GA tag) on location for several days. Dispatch made contact with registered owner whom advised they would move the vehicle.
  • Traffic Stop, Highway 78W, reference to driver being stopped for No Insurance on a 2012 Hyundai Sonata GA#. Vehicle was removed by towing co. and driver was released on copy.
  • Warrant Served, Alcovy St., Georgia Probation Management. Jabri Jackson on location with an active probation warrant. Jackson was taken into custody and transported to the WC Jail without incident.
  • Suspicious Person, Ammons Bridge Rd., reference to a disoriented elderly male. The area was checked with no contact.
  • Agency Assist, Meadowbrook Dr., reference to DFACS removing children from the home. No one was on location.
  • Juvenile Complaint, North Broad St., mother stated her 13 and 14-year-old sons left home without permission. She located them, then they took off when she called the police. One was last seen wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans. The other was last seen wearing a grey hoodie with brown joggers. The juveniles are believed to be on Nowell Street. An area check was conducted with negative contact. Mother was advised to call back if the boys did not return.
  • Hit and Run, East Spring St./Spring Street Laundry, complainant advised a silver passenger vehicle struck her Chevrolet Camaro and left the scene. Officer was unable to review video due to the owner of Spring Street Laundry not on location and not answering his phone. Report taken.
  • Lost Item, West Spring St., Dollar Tree, reference to complainant losing his wallet in the store with over $500 in it. Wallet was found in the customer bathroom but with the cash missing. No surveillance images were available, complainant declined report.
