MPD Reports: Rape, assault, suicide threats, hit and run, disputes…

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Dec. 21 – 27, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the first part. Please note and arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Person, East Spring St., Sunshine Coin Laundry. Officers made contact with a male subject who was dropped off on location by night shift. Officers had negative contact with Faith In Serving Humanity. The subject was advised to leave at sunrise.
  • Rape, East Church St., reference to female subject stating she was raped by a named subject. Report taken, CID was notified. The subject later turned himself in at MPD for questioning and an active warrant out of Walton County. He was placed under arrest for the warrant and was transported to the Walton County Jail and turned over to the jail staff without incident.
  • Disturbance, Magnolia Terrace, reference to meeting complainant about her neighbor being loud. Contact made with the neighbor at the apartment who stated she’s not being loud and would report the incident to Housing Authority.
  • Suspicious Person, Colquitt St., the complainant advised a W/F wearing a blue hoodie and black pants with white stripes was walking through his yard possibly on 38D (drugs). Officers located female on Felker Street. She advised she was walking to her friend’s house on Colquitt Street from her residence on Felker Street. All ok.
  • Welfare Check, Sorrells St., reference to checking on a female subject. Contact made and advised to call her daughter. All ok.
  • Harassment, South Broad St., Monroe Police Department. Mother advised that her son’s girlfriend was followed home this past Wednesday by three B/M and was advised that they were going to get her son. She is worried that they are going to shot and kill him. One of the suspects is a juvenile. Report taken.
  • Shoplifting, W Spring St -Walmart. Terri Croy arrested for shoplifting. Croy was taken to the Police Department and fingerprinted. Croy was then released on a copy.
  • Civil Matter, South Broad St., Monroe Police Department in reference to a dispute over the lease at Athens Grill. The complainant was advised of the civil process.
  • Suicide Threats, South Broad St., South Side Mobile Home Park. Subject requested a ride to Piedmont Walton in reference to needing a mental evaluation.
  • Theft, East Washington St., Post Office, Negative contact. Subject was on Saratoga Drive. Complainant stated that he had been out of town for the past month and requested the post office place his mail on hold. When he returned, he discovered the mail was delivered to an address on John Deere Road without his consent. While on location, the mail was returned to the complainant. He was advised that if he still requested to make a report to contact the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Highway 78/Highway 138, reference to a white Ford Escape with no tag driving slowly. Vehicle was stopped, the driver provided the proper paperwork. The driver stated the vehicle was purchased earlier this week. Everything ok.
  • Theft Report, South Broad St., Monroe Police Department Lobby, reference to complainant reporting cash stolen from her wallet while on location on Spruce Lane. The complainant was only able to provide a nickname of the suspect in the theft. Report taken.
  • Dispute, Jessica Way, mother advised her daughter’s ex-boyfriend refused to pay rent. Mother advised the boyfriend has got all of his belongings and no longer resides at the address. Mother advised of civil remedies.
  • Theft Report, South Broad St., reference to complainant reporting a package stolen from her front door step on 12/19/2018. Complainant stated the package was from Finger Hut and contained 2 Carhartt shirts, and 2 pairs of tennis shoes (New Balance and Sketchers). Report taken.
  • Theft, GW Carver Cir., Made contact with a complainant who stated named subject entered her home without permission and took a dress and her shoes. Report Taken
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Hammond Park, reference to vehicle parked in closed park. Occupants advised to leave park.
  • Drugs, Plaza Dr., made contact with the complainant about the odor of marijuana coming from units around her location. She was advised her options. All Ok
  • Dispute, Plaza Trace, reference to subjects arguing. One subject was gone when officers arrived.
  • Runaway Juvenile, West 5th St., refereance to female subject who ran away from her grandmother’s home.  Unknown clothing description or method of travel.  She was entered into GCIC. Report taken.
  • Agency Assist, Michael Etchison Rd., reference to a subject claiming he was assaulted. Extra Patrol requested.
  • Dispute, Masters Dr., reference to complainant claiming named subject came to her house uninvited and was stalking her. Investigation showed text messages from complainant to named subject inviting him over for hugs throughout the day. Report taken.
  • Assault, West Spring St., reference to the earlier agency assist. Subject walked into the ER and MPD and WCSO responded. it was determined the assault took place in the county.
  • Suspicious person, West Spring St., ER, reference to victim from WCSO assault. Subject returned to his room before units’ arrival. All ok.
  • Traffic Collision, Harris St., reference to Eugene Wright striking tree and leaving scene. Located on Magnolia Terrace. Arrested and charged with driving with suspended license, Poss less than an ounce of Marijuana, Open container, Failure to maintain lane and Duty upon striking a fixed object.
  • Traffic Stop, McDaniel St./Jackson St. tag # stopped for no valid insurance. The driver was cited accordingly and the vehicle was towed by towing company.
  • Theft, Custom Way, reference to complainant accusing named subject of stealing her Percocet. Complainant requested an incident report. Named subject never left the residence and was searched and no pills were located on him. He advised complainant abusing her medication.
  • Traffic Stop, Harris St., reference to a vehicle stopped in front of  Harris St. talking to a male subject. The driver, Christopher Brown, was arrested for stopping in the roadway and driving with a suspended license.
  • Civil Matter, Bridgeport Lane, reference to a civil dispute over property. Civil matter explained, everything on location ok.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Highway 78 Walton Truck Stop, reference to 3 juveniles running across Highway 78 from the Walton Inn. Contact made with the juveniles at the Waffle House who was there with a parent. Parent advised she was watching kids cross the roadway.
  • Dispute, Highway 78, Waffle House reference to a dispute over food. The customer was gone upon officer arrival.
  • Wanted Person, Pine Park St., Clinton Foster on location with an active warrant through Spaulding County. Warrant was confirmed and Foster was placed under arrest. Foster was transported and released to the WCSO
  • Traffic Stop, Davis St./Wall St., Dexter Blackwell arrested for driving with a suspended license. The subject was fingerprinted and released on a copy of the citation.
  • Juvenile Complaint, West Spring St., Walmart, reference to a small child locked inside of a vehicle. Contact made with the child who stated her mother was shopping inside. Contact made with mother and advised charges possibly could be filed for leaving kid in vehicle for approximately 40 minutes, unattended.
  • Hit and run, North Broad St., area of peachy keen.  Dark Blue SUV driven by Ms. Linda Durvin struck an unoccupied truck before fleeing the scene.  Contact was made later with Linda and she was arrested for hit and run.
  • Assault, South Madison Ave., reference to male subject assaulting complainant and stealing her vehicle. Warrants to be taken.
  • Unknown law, Alcovy St., reference to a male who arrived on Alcovy St. stating he had a medical emergency.  The subject left the area on foot and MPD, MFD, EMS patrolled the area with negative contact.
  • Suspicious person, North Broad St., Food Mart. The complainant advised a b/m subject took three beers without paying. Report taken.
  • Disturbing the peace, Plaza Dr., Ashton Point Apts., reference to a group of teenagers who were out in the parking lot being loud. Both apartment complexes were check and parking area clear of all persons. All ok.
  • Loud Noise, Plaza Dr., reference to a party. Spoke with resident and advised to keep the noise down.
  • Illegal Parking, East Washington St., reference to complainant saying all spots in parking lot were full with people who do not live in complex. Lot checked and multiple open spots. No illegal parking.
  • Disturbing the peace, Ashton Pt., party shut down, parking lot cleared, all ok.
  • Domestic, Magnolia Terrace, reference to Thadeous Williams punching named female in the eye causing tremendous swelling. Williams arrested and charged with Aggravated Battery.
  • Disturbing the peace, HWY 78, Waffle House, a crowd from Ashton Pt. party on location, crowed disbursed, all ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, East Marable St., Matthews Park, two subjects were found parked in the back parking lot.  Both had a class CP license and were advised to have someone pick them up.  A white Ford Focus may be left on location due to mechanical issues.
  • Suspicious Vehicle in the area of Highway 78 coming into the city. Black Cadillac traveling west in the EB lane. Contact made with the driver at East Spring ramp. Field sobriety conducted and driver checked ok, several citations issued.
  • Dispute, Maple St., two subjects were involved in a verbal dispute earlier this date.  When one subject returned home the locks to the residence were changed.  She advised she was moving out and wanted her belongings.  Parties reached an agreement while Officer was on scene.  Both parties were explained the civil process as well.
  • Accident, Hwy 78/Cherry Hill Rd., driver thought she was turning onto the exit for East Spring Street.  She went off road causing damage to her vehicle.  Driver requested a report.
  • Dispute, Tanglewood Dr., husband was intoxicated and arguing with his wife.  Wife requested he be removed from residence.  After explaining the eviction process to both the husband stated he would go into the room and go to sleep.  Report Taken
  • Suspicious Person, Towler St., Caller advised a female was sitting in a gray Nissan passenger car and appeared to be intoxicated.  Contact was made with the driver inside the residence.  She was visibly upset due to having a miscarriage.  She was advised to stay with family members for the night.  All ok.
  • Dispute, Magnolia Ter., reference to complainant calling asking for Officers to Stand By while she moved her things out. Complainant moved all of her belongings out. Report Taken
  • Suspicious Person, Gliding Lane, reference to a black female walking door to door to speak with residence about tv service.  Officer patrolled the area and had negative contact with the female.
  • Dispute, Tanglewood Dr., married subjects were verbally disputing once again.  Wife stated husband was trying to drive the car without a license and intoxicated.  Husband was taken to a family members house in Rose Ison Terrace.  Report added to earlier incident number
  • Welfare Check, Golden Pawn, Anonymous complainant stated a subject was sleeping on the floor near the Golden Pawn. Contact made with subject who is homeless. Negative contact with FISH. Subject was advised of loitering laws.
  • Dispute, reference to complainant wanting his girlfriend kicked out. Report taken parties separated.
  • Loud Music, 4th St., anonymous complainant stated there was loud music in the area, contact made with a subject on 4th St., he was advised to keep his music down.
  • EMS Assist, Golden Pantry, caller stated a female was passed out in a car at the gas pumps. Had contact with Rachael Standford, who under further investigation was arrest for possession of meth and Xanax and other drug items.
  • Unknown Law, Chestnut Lane, reference to a person possibly being shot and a female subject being stabbed. Mr. Nathaniel Robinson was tased and taken to jail. Use of force report completed. CID notified and responded.
  • Dispute, Towler St., complainant was upset that his girlfriend who lives there, had returned home and would not let him sleep. He was advised of the eviction process.
