MPD Reports: Report of juveniles throwing rocks at passing motorcycle

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period June 13 – 20, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Theft – MPD in reference to complainant stating he lent subject a cellphone, and she is refusing to return it. Report taken.
  • Warrant Attempt – GW Carver Dr. in reference to Jamie Edwards in the area. Jamie was located and arrested for a failure to appear warrant out of Monroe Police Department.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St. – Walmart. Loss Prevention had taken custody of a female subject for skip scanning items. She was transported to the Police Department and was fingerprinted and released on copy of citation.
  • Warrant Attempt – GW Carver Homes in reference to Shaconda Gibbs. She was arrested and transported to the Walton County Jail.
  • Dispute – E Marable- Meet complainant at the Monroe library. Complainant advised that she and another subject got into an argument. Complainant advised it got physical. Due to lack of evidence no charges could be made. Report taken.
  • Warrant attempt – W. Creek Cir. Perry Brown arrested for a warrant out of Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Meet with an Officer – Tall Oaks W. Complainant advised that her mother was making her sleep on the floor and would like something done about it. Complainant was politely advised that it is not illegal to sleep on the floor even at the age of seventeen. All ok
  • Suspicious Person – Tanglewood Lane – In reference to complainant hearing someone knock on her door. Also received multiple calls from a blocked number. Area checked with negative contact. Advised son was coming over to check things out.
  • Suspicious Activity – South Madison Avenue – In reference to complainant believing people were in his house coming from adjoining apartment. No evidence of people sneaking through. The subject did not have a key to his residence to check. Complainant was possibly intoxicated.
  • Discharging Firearms – S. Madison Ave.: Kenneth Scott Hayes fired his weapon into the staircase because he thought someone was inside his house.  Hayes appeared to be under the influence.  Hayes was arrested for Reckless Conduct and Discharging Firearm in the City.  Hayes was cleared by Piedmont Walton and then transported to the jail.
  • Wanted Person – S. Madison Ave. Complainant had subject in her office for Violation of Probation. Subject was transported to Walton County jail.
  • Damage to property – Tanglewood Dr. Complainant reported that her 2010 gray Chevy Malibu had been scratched possibly by a key sometime during the night on Saturday.  Report taken.
  • Theft report – Mobley Cir. Complainant advised that a black male by the name of “Pressure” walked out of her residence with her Jimenez JA 380 S/N 232214.  The silver pistol with black handle was placed onto GCIC.
  • Damage to Property – Hwy 78/Hwy 11 – In reference to ladder falling off rear of truck and striking complainants’ vehicle. Driver issued citation for failure to secure load.
  • Dispute – Davis St; reported two subjects came to the residence on Monday and one of them stole $95.00. One of the subjects came back to the residence on Tuesday and allegedly tried to enter the residence without permission to retrieve his property from inside. One of the subjects was given a criminal trespass warning. No contact was made with the other subject.
  • Dispute – Pannell Rd. Subject was barred from the property.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St., Walmart. Two subjects in a verbal dispute in the parking lot. Dispute over relationship problems.
  • Agency assist – W. Spring St., McDonalds. Missing juvenile out of Oconee county recovered and turned over to her grandmother.
  • Suspicious Person – Norris St.  Jennifer Roberts stated a male came into the residence looking for a female that was incarcerated.  The male then asked for narcotics.  She told the subject he needed to leave.  The male then began walking towards S. Madison.  Officer patrolled the area and had negative contact with the subject.  Extra patrol was put out in the area.
  • Wanted Person – Booth Dr.  Caller stated Ashely Robinson was on location and had an active warrant.  Upon Officer arrival Ms. Robinson ran into the woods in an attempt to hide.  Officer located her and placed her in custody due to having a warrant out of Walton County.
  • Road blocked – N Broad St at Perry St. Someone placed cones in the road blocking the road, cones were removed.
  • Request for area check – Colley St. Complainant advised her dog was barking. Located deer in back yard, all ok.
  • Entering Auto – Unisia Dr., WalMart DC. Ref to 18 wheeler with broken window.
  • Traffic stop – Alcovy and Wayne.  Officer observed a vehicle failing to maintain lane.  Officer conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Matthew Wilks.  During the investigation it was determined Mr. Wilks was under the influence.  Mr. Wilks arrested for DUI less safe, refusal.
  • Juvenile complaint – at N. Broad and Oak St. Ref to juveniles throwing rocks at a passing motorcycle. Area searched with negative contact
  • Agency Assist – Applebees.  Oconee Co. S.O. requested officers to check this location for a runaway juvenile.  W/M with blue-jeans and red shirt with blonde hair.  Negative contact with juvenile.
