MPD Reports: Report of rape in the woods, suicide attempt and car vs pole wreck

The City of Monroe reported the following incidents for the period April 4 – 10, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suicide Threats – Lacy St: The complainant said her brother, who is paralyzed, attempted to throw himself down the stairs because they would not give him his medicine and said he did not want to be here anymore.  EMS transported subject to Piedmont Walton. The complainant requested a report to document incident.
  • Suspicious Person – S. Broad St. – In reference to subject asking customers for money. Subject advised to leave the area. Left on foot.
  • Suspicious Person – W. Spring St. (Wal-Mart): Two black males in a black Chevrolet Malibu vehicle. Two subjects were walking through the parking lot.  One subject acting under the influence looking through vehicles.  Conducted probable cause search of the vehicle. The subject gave a false name of to the officer.  Smith was cited with Disorderly Conduct and released.
  • Traffic Stop – G.W.Carver and Green St. – In reference to a white Honda Accord with no insurance. Driver was driving without a license. Cited for no license or insurance. Fingerprinted and released.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – HWY 78 and Unisia Dr. – In reference to a white truck driving recklessly. Vehicle stopped by Walton County Sherriff’s Office.
  • Criminal Trespass) 116 South Broad Street: Subject said her neighbor was issued with a criminal trespass order the other day after a dispute between him and her 13-year-old son.  She said today her neighbor pulled in her driveway before backing into his driveway. She was advised of remedies.
  • Traffic Stop/Chase – N. Broad St./Tyler St.: Joshua Reed, who has felony warrants, fled the vehicle. Follow up to be conducted further by k-9 officer.
  • Damage to Property – Booth Dr.: Complainant on the scene in reference to the damaged windshield. Report taken.
  • Rape – Piedmont Walton. Complainant on location stated that she was raped by a male in the woods near Tall Oaks on 04-06-2019. Notified the Criminal Investigation Division, report taken.
  • Suspicious Person – E. Spring St.  Caller stated a black male was walking in the area around vehicles.  They were worried he was looking to break into vehicles.  The subject was located in the area.  He stated he was homeless and looking for change in parking lots.  He was advised of the loitering ordinance and sent on his way.
  • Dispute – E. Washington: Dispute over a handicapped parking spot, situation mediated.
  • Fight – E. Church St.  Two Subjects were involved in a physical altercation.  One of the subjects had already left the scene.  The other subject came out of the house in an attempt to avoid speaking to Police.  During the course of the investigation, he refused to give his information and was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct.
  • Vehicle accident – S. Broad/W. Fambrough.  Single vehicle accident into a power pole. The pole was broken and had to be fixed by Monroe Utilities
