MPD Reports: Reports of stolen medication, custody disputes, burglary reports

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Nov. 14 – 21, 2019. Due to the length, this report was split into four parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Civil Matter – Towler St. In reference to complainant wanting to file a report on missing / stolen medication. The complainant stated that her husband stole a 90-count bottle of Percocet. She advised that it was taken from the residence on 11/15/2019. Report taken. 
  • Child Custody – Breedlove Dr. – Ridgeview. The complainant wanted officers to stand by while she picked up her child from her ex-boyfriend. The boyfriend was not on location and the complainant was advised of civil remedies.
  • Fraud – via phone call. The subject wanted to make a report with Monroe PD in reference to a fraud that occurred at the Wells Fargo in Monroe on October 24th. A report was filed with Dekalb County when the incident occurred, but the complainant requested assistance from Monroe PD. Report taken.
  • Follow Up – Georgia Ave – DFCS in reference to meeting with the complainant about the boyfriend. Agency Assist – Westridge Ave. in reference to locating the subject who made threats to take his children from AD Atha Elementary and kill himself with a shotgun. Contact was made with subject. All okay.
  • Follow Up – at Church’s Chicken in reference to locating the subject and his juvenile son. The son was returned to his mother. All okay.
  • Theft – Davis St. in reference to the complainant having wood stolen from a subject named “BJ” at Davis St. Negative contact with the subject at this time and complainant advised they would call back once he returned.
  • Juvenile Complaint – W. Spring St. – Piedmont Walton in reference to complainant trying to get her daughter into the hospital for a mental evaluation. Officers on the scene spoke to the subject and she went into the hospital peacefully.
  • Burglary – Wheel House Lane in reference to subjects breaking into the residence and causing a lot of damage. Report taken.
  • Fraud – MPD. Complainant advised of fraudulent activity on her Pinnacle debit card. The complainant later called back and advised that she was familiar with the charge.
  • Welfare Check – S. Broad St. – Young Learners in reference to subject wanting a welfare check conducted on his son. The subject was concerned for his son due to receiving a message from the mother about the child having a bad rash. Officers on the scene observed the teacher check the child which appeared happy and healthy. The Officer spoke to the subject over the phone and advised him of the child’s condition. He was also advised that the Officers on the scene are not medical professionals and to take the child to the doctor if he wanted a medical opinion.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St. – Walmart. A black female attempted to push a shopping cart of meat out the store without paying. She was stopped by loss prevention and got into a 2018 Ford Fusion prior to officers’ arrival.
  • Dispute – E. Spring Street – Popeyes. In reference to complainant wanting to retrieve food from a wrong drive-thru order. She advised she went through the drive-thru two days ago and was told she could return at a later time and date to get the food. The manager would not honor the deal due to her having no receipt. The situation was mediated. All okay.
  • Burglary – 6th St. Complainant reported coming home to find her house broken into sometime in the past three days. Clothes and possibly a Dewalt Power tool taken. Report taken. Requested extra patrol in the area.
  • Wanted Person – S. Broad Street: Subject turned herself in on a Probation Warrant.
  • 911 Hang-up – W. Spring St. Haven Inn. In reference to a subject possibly breaking into a room. While attempting to identify subjects chase ensued.
