MPD Reports: Shots fired at Lacy Street and at Millstone Bluff

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period March 19 – 26, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Other Law – W. Spring St. in reference to a male who was refusing to leave the area of the ER after being treated. Male was sent on his way. All ok. 
  • Theft -Waffle House on N. Broad St. In reference to Waffle House reporting that Alexis Wymbs and three other individuals all ate meals, and then left Ms. Wymbs debit card along with $20, stating that they would be back to pay by midnight and never came back. Alex, the manager, stated that he did not want to press charges.
  • Civil Issue – Towler St. in reference to two subjects arguing over the custody of their seven-year- old son. Juvenile returned to the mother. Both Parties advised of civil process.
  • Domestic Dispute – Wellington Lane. In reference to subject bipolar and off his medication. He was transported to Piedmont Walton for mental evaluation in lieu of criminal charges.
  • Assault – W. Spring St. in reference to victim assaulted in Tanglewood with a knife. Unknown suspects at this time. Criminal Investigation Division notified and responded
  • Theft report – Carver Pl. Complainant reported an unknown person taking meat and wine from her kitchen over the weekend. No forced entry observed, report taken.
  • Theft report – Breedlove Dr. In reference to someone breaking into the tenant deposit box. Report made.
  • Civil Issue – Atha St. Ref to items missing when roommate has friends over. The complainant had $275.00 dollars last night and it was gone this morning and a theft report was done.
  • Dispute – Cook Place in reference to Subject disputing with her boyfriend over bills. Subject claimed that boyfriend pushed her during the dispute. Boyfriend was gone on arrival. Report taken.
  • Other law – Tall Oaks W. Dispute over property, parties separated, all ok.
  • Civil Issue – W. Spring St., Home Depot. Dispute over returning items to store, advised of remedies.
  • Damage to Property – Advance Auto Parts -In reference to subject backed his truck into complainants’ car. There was minimal damage to complainant’s car, a small scuff to the bumper near the lower part of the license tag. Subjects’ truck had damage near the taillight. Report taken.
  • Threats Report – Spruce Ln. Wife advised she is going through a divorce, and her current husband threatened to physically harm her. Report taken. Extra patrol requested.
  • Agency Assist – S. broad St. Assist Walton DFACS with follow-up in reference to possibly depriving a child at Douglas St.
  • Assault Report – South Madison Ave. Complainant advised that her daughter told her that her 14-year-old aunt touched her inappropriately. Report taken.
  • Discharging Firearms – Lacy St. Complainant advised they heard 5-6 gunshots. 1 shell casing was located in front of Lacey St. Shell casing was submitted into evidence. Report taken.
  • DOA – Davis St.- Subject found her father unresponsive and cold to the touch. Father was DOA. During the initial sweep of the room he was in it appeared that it was a possible overdose. Criminal Investigation Division was notified and detective responded to the scene.
  • Domestic Dispute – Cook Pl. No contact was able to be made at the address. The complainant refused to answer phone calls from 911 as well.
  • Firearms – Millstone Bluff- Two callers in reference to multiple shots heard. Officers patrolled area on foot and located five 9mm shell casings.
  • Child custody – Windsor Dr. in reference to subject disputing with his ex-girlfriend over visitation of their 4 month old daughter. Remedies advised.
