MPD Reports: Shots fired large crowd fights; 4 females in a fight, juvenile problems

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 15 – 22, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Follow Up – W Marable St. In reference to attempting to make contact with the other party of a case. 

Suspicious Person – Brown Oil. In reference to subject walking around closed business wearing all dark clothing. Subject was identified and advised to walk back to his residence on Nowell St. 

Suspicious Vehicle – Ridge Rd. Report of a passenger car with occupants smoking Marijuana. Passenger car located; no Marijuana smoking observed. Report taken. 

Fight – Pine Park St. Large crowed in the roadway, crowed dispersed, all ok. 

Dispute – Pine Park St. Multiple callers advised of crowd about to fight with guns. No weapons observed, several OLN’s ran, crowed dispersed and units warned all parties of disorderly conduct. 

Agency Assist – Georgia Ave. DFCS. In reference to retrieving custody of a 4-month old infant. All ok. 

Fight – Pine Park St. In reference to 4 females. Complainant advised it has been going on all day. Complainant advised the fight is on Lacy St. Subjects on location were uncooperative and advised officers they did not see anything. 

Suspicious Person – S Broad St. John’s Supermarket. In reference to a black male who left on foot, wearing gray sweatpants, backpack, gray jacket, and a hoodie with a mask. Complainant advised male has been on location multiple times asking customers for money. 

Firearms – Towler St. In reference to multiple shots heard in the area. While en route multiple calls came in advising the shots came from Lacy Street. Officer conducted an area check on foot and located nine 9mm shell casings in front of residence on Lacy Street. Officers attempted to gather information from parties in the area. Parties were uncooperative and stated they did not see anything. No property damage was observed while on location nor was anyone shot. Casings were recovered and placed into evidence. 

Dispute – Walker Dr. In reference to a 14-year-old female refusing to get into a vehicle. Juvenile entered the vehicle. Parents requested a report to be made due to the juvenile being on probation. Report taken. 

Burglary – Tanglewood Dr, D. In reference to a missing TV. Complainant was not home when incident occurred. Report Taken 

Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 138 at Great Oaks Dr. In reference to a black SUV driving reckless. Vehicle stopped by Joint Ops. All ok. 

Foot Chase/Traffic Stop – Davis Street. Reference to a Black Honda Civic stopped for operating without a license plate. Upon initiating emergency lights, the driver fled the scene on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, the subject was taken into custody and charged with misdemeanor obstruction and possession of Schedule II Methamphetamine. 

Animal Complaint – W Highland Ave. In reference to a K9 that attacked the complainant’s K9. Complainant wanted an officer to speak with the owner of the other K9 at Jackson Street. Was not able to make contact at the residence. The complainant’s K9 was not injured. 

Traffic Stop) on US 78W at Conyers Exit. – Officer conducted a traffic stop due to an equipment violation. During the stop it was determined the passenger had an active probation warrant out of Walton County. He was taken into custody and turned over to jail staff. 

Suspicious Person – South Broad Street: In reference to subject in the area asking patrons for money. Juvenile transported home verbally warned and turned over to parent. 

Harassment – Glen Iris Drive in reference to report of harassment via social media. Complainant claimed that subject was threatening her on Facebook and subject claimed that she damaged her mirror. 

Theft – West 5th Street: in reference to 3 black male juveniles taking white bicycle from this location. Report made. 

Damage to Property – Carwood Drive -In reference to complainant stated his ex-girlfriend damaged his screen door. Report taken. 

Dispute – Lacy St -Large dispute in the street, crowd dispersed. 

Dispute – West Spring Street at Piedmont Walton: In reference to patient that is being mentally evaluated refusing to allow staff to look at his belongings. All okay. 

Suspicious Vehicle – W Spring St – In reference to a red pickup truck that was on location for over 2 hours. The driver was under the influence, drugs were found in the vehicle and on him. Driver taken to jail. 

Prowler – Lake View Dr – In reference to the complainant hearing noises behind their house, area checked no contact. 

Shots Fired – Carwood Dr. – In reference to a subject firing his pistol at an intruder. Upon further investigation, he fired his pistol into the woods to try to scare someone that he thought was in the woods. The subject was taken to jail for possessing a firearm while being a convicted felon, reckless conduct, and discharging firearm near roadway. 

Firearms – W Spring St – In reference to three shots heard in the area. Shots were related to previous call. 

Entering Auto – Magnolia St – In reference to the complainant hearing someone go through his vehicle. Report taken.
