MPD Reports: Slew of juvenile issues, runaways and domestic disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period July 5 – 11, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – Mears St. in reference to complainant disputing with a subject about the stolen vehicle from an earlier call. The subject was gone on arrival. The complainant had a seizure while Officers were in route. The scene was turned over to EMS. Complainant was transported to Piedmont Walton. 
  • Domestic – S. Broad St. in reference to complainant wanting to change the locks to the front door so his stepdaughter won’t have access. The complainant was advised of the civil remedies.
  • Suspicious Activity – E. Church St. – The Chevron in reference to a black male subject who goes by the name Jay making threats to rob the store. He was wearing a red t-shirt with the M&M characters face on it, blue jeans and red and white tennis shoes. An area check was conducted. Report taken.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St. – Walmart in reference to a named female subject shoplifting $171.16 worth of items and then fleeing in a 2014 Black in color Acura. Warrants to be taken.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Ridge Road. Reference an 11-year-old  male leaving home. Juvenile was located and turned over to his mother.
  • Agency Assist – W. Spring St. – Walmart in reference to 15-year-old running away from his DFCS worker while visiting the store. Juvenile was gone on arrival and entered as missing on GCIC after a search of the area was done with negative contact. The juvenile was believed to possibly be in the area of Monroe Estates
  • Damage to Property – Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd – Mister Carwash in reference to a damaged vehicle. The complainant advised the carwash damaged the rear of his vehicle. Report taken
  • Missing Persons – S. Broad St. – Hardees in reference to the 15-year-old juvenile being located by his mother.
  • Agency Assist – S. Hammond / Cherokee – Assist GSP with a 10-38 (suspicious vehicle)
  • Animal Complaint – Walton Rd. in reference to the neighbor that lives across the street dog barking excessively in its own backyard. Referred to animal control for complaint.
  • Fire Assist – S. Broad St. -Assisted MFD due to smoke coming from a refrigeration unit. Turned over to Monroe Fire Department.
  • Dispute – Magnolia Ter. – The complainant was attempting to pick up personal belongings from his mother. Mother refused to give him his belongings. He was advised of the civil process. –
  • Runaway – MLK JR BLVD Applebees. in reference to the complainant having issues with her niece. Niece returned and situation mediated.
  • Dispute – Cook St. – Complainant alleges her 15-year-old brother broke into her house while she was in jail. Complainant doesn’t want to press charges and declined a report at this time.
  • Run-a-way Juvenile – Knight St.- Juvenile, 15-year-old pregnant female left the residence. Placed on GCIC.
  • Dispute – Maple St. Domestic dispute between two parties. Situation mediated, neither party would leave the residence but agreed to sleep in separate rooms for the night.
  • Domestic – Maple St: Subject was trying to remove items from the residence that another subject stated was his. Subjects were advised of the civil process. Officers stood by while the subject removed his items. Both parties advised of legal ramifications if the property was damaged or taken that did not belong to them. Both parties left the location.
  • Missing Juvenile – Knight St – In reference to mother wanting to list her daughter as missing. Daughter already listed on GCIC previous night. Mother’s information added to the report
  • Theft – Davis St: Complainant said she is moving, and she had a patio table and chairs in her front yard. There are also other items by the road. Jackson said they went missing last night. We recovered two chairs and a rocking chair from Davis Street. A table and two brown folding chairs still missing The subject took the items. Report taken.
  • Return – Davis St: Reference earlier call. Subject was in the area and he said he saw the two people at Davis St with the table. Individual gave consent to search her residence. Negative contact. Supplement to be added.
  • Suspicious person – Bold Springs Rd. (All Star) – Robby Stephens found to be DUI and in possession of drugs and placed under arrest. Another subject was in the vehicle and also intoxicated. Stephens vehicle was towed by Taylors wrecker service. The other subject was criminally trespassed. Stephens is charged with DUI-Drugs, Possession Schedule IV (x2) and Drugs in Original Container.
  • Sexual Assault – S Broad St: Case worker who is with DFACS out of Walton County Office needing a police report done on an active case. Report taken.
  • Civil Issue – Mayfield Dr – In reference to employees unsure of legal status of vehicle in shop due to getting multiple calls from different people claiming ownership. Advised vehicle was not stolen and to contact the police when the owner arrived to check on status.
  • Entering Auto – King St.: In reference to her 38 revolvers being taken from her 2006 Chevrolet trailblazer. Report taken.
  • Welfare Check – W. Spring St. – In reference to a subject having an emotional breakdown in store. He refused to go to hospital. Benchmark contacted and denied 10-13 after speaking with him. The subject was given a ride to Hardee’s.
