MPD Reports: Snake removed from house; complaint of children left unattended in vehicle; disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Aug. 29 – Sept. 5, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Warrant service – Lawrence St. Attempted to locate a subject. He was not on location, parents advised that he was going to turn himself in at that jail. 
  • Animal in house – Wheel House Ln. Small snake in house. The snake was located and removed.
  • Dispute – Birch St. Two subjects on location in a dispute with a third subject. The third subject was gone on arrival but called 911 when he got home. The third subject lives in the county, warrants to be taking for battery.
  • Suspicious Person – S. Broad St.; Subject on location highly intoxicated refusing to leave. The subject was picked up by his boss and taken home.
  • Suspicious vehicle -Piedmont Walton; While conducting an area check Officers located a black 2000 Ford Expedition parked in a remote area of the parking lot with the driver window rolled down and power tools and a shovel inside. Per surveillance footage, the vehicle was parked here on Tuesday around 1120 AM. The registration is canceled, and the vehicle now belongs to a subject whose license is suspended. Hospital staff was notified and will check with Admin to have it removed.
  • Found Property – MPD. A debit card belonging to a subject was found in the back of the parking lot. Officer had negative contact with the subject. The card was placed into evidence for safekeeping.
  • Stranded Motorist – W. Spring St. – Piedmont Walton in reference to a black Toyota. The complainant wanted assistance in regard to her axle breaking on her vehicle. Taylor’s was contacted and towed the vehicle by private request.
  • Stolen Vehicle – S. Broad St. – MPD lobby. The complainant wanted to report his vehicle stolen. He advised he was incarcerated in the Walton County Jail for the past month. Contact made with WCSO who advised the vehicle was at Jay’s. The complainant was given a courtesy ride to Jay’s. All okay.
  • Request to meet – S. Broad St. – MPD. Bail bondsman wanted help in locating a halfway house in the area of Reed Way. He stated he was looking for a subject who has an active warrant. He was advised of the location.
  • Stalking Report – S. Broad St.  in reference to complainant reporting she has received Facebook friends’ requests from a fake account. She believes it’s a subject who was previously arrested for stalking her. Report taken.
  • Dispute – Maple St. Complainant stated subject took her ID card, bank card, and cash. Complainant advised she owed him for rent and returned the items upon officer request. Both parties were advised of remedies.
  • Meet with Officer – S. Broad St. – MPD. Subject wanted to add information to case. Supplemental added.
  • Civil Issue – S. Broad St. – MPD. The complainant wanted an officer to stand by while she retrieved her belongings from her ex-boyfriend. Subject advised the property was at Pannell Rd. which is in the county. Turned over to WCSO.
  • Warrant Served – Sorrells St. at Maple Lane. An officer observed a subject walking down the street. She was arrested for probation violation warrant out of WCSO. She was transported to jail.
  • Dispute – S. Broad St. – Southside MHP. Reference to a 3rd party caller stating two subjects were physically disputing in front of the residence. One subject advised no altercation occurred and the other subject was not on location.
  • Accident – S. Broad / Famborough – Three vehicle accident. Scene Turned over to Georgia State Patrol.
  • EMS Assist – Pannell Rd. The subject was heavily intoxicated and fell down in a neighbors’ yard. Turned over to EMS.
  • Dispute – Wheel House Lane. Two subjects were involved in a verbal dispute over a civil matter. Both parties stated the dispute never turned physical. Remedies given.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – W. Spring St. at Walmart – Silver Honda Civic (RRA3767) in row 10 with two juveniles unattended. Mother inside shopping and left her 12-year-old son and 18-month-old daughter in the vehicle while running with the A/C on. Everyone appeared to be okay. I cautioned mother about leaving juveniles in the vehicle unattended.
  • Suspicious Vehicle -Walton Rd. – White Ford Ranger failing to maintain lane. Contact was made and citations issued for tire requirements and seat belt violation.
  • Juvenile Complaint – S. Madison. Juveniles playing in the complainant’s yard while she was not home. Juveniles were advised to stay away unless given permission.
  • Dispute – E. Marable St. – A subject was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning to stay away from residence on E. Marable St. after a verbal dispute turned physical.
  • Fight – E. Marable St. – Negative contact with 20 people fighting in the area.
  • Dispute – Atha St. While Officer was on a traffic stop in the area Officer heard a dispute on Atha St. After locating the address on Atha it was determined that a verbal dispute had taken place between two subjects because one being intoxicated. Subject was picked up by a family member. All ok.
  • Suicide Threats – Plantation Dr. Mother stated her son has been hearing voices and threatened to cut his head off. Scott refused to cooperate with law enforcement and EMS. Georgia Crisis was contacted and responded. A mental order was signed. Son was detained and transported to Eastside.
