MPD Reports: Stabbing, assault, fraud, hit and run, suicide risks and domestic disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Aug. 15 – 22, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – Glen Iris Dr. – In reference to a dispute between a subject and the children of her deceased boyfriend over money. 
  • Public Indecency – E. Church St.: Subject arrested for criminal trespass, public drunk and public indecency
  • Damage to Property – Felker St. – In reference to complainant damaging vehicle driving over a pothole.
  • Unknown – Glen Iris Dr. Elderly Male calling in reference to a dead animal being eaten by birds.
  • Suspicious Person – W. Spring in reference to a female with pink hair that came in the nail Salon and said someone was trying to kill her. She was gone upon arrival.
  • Business Panic Alarm – N. Broad St. (Church’s Chicken): In reference to a subject causing a disturbance in the store. The store manager wanted him off the property. All okay.
  • Civil Issue – N. Midland Ave. in reference to complainant Not receiving her child from Maryland on time as stated in her custody paperwork. The complainant was referred to the proper courts.
  • Counterfeit – Tractor Supply Co. In reference to a young black male who used counterfeit $100 to steal a cell phone charger and the $89 in change. Report Made.
  • Stabbing – Piedmont Walton; Subject came into the ER with an obvious stab wound to the back that punctured a lung. Subject denied being stabbed. Unknown where the incident occurred. Criminal Investigation Division notified and responded.
  • Suspicious Person -E. Church St. and Tall Oaks. Complainant advised at that subject was seen walking in the area. Subject had been Criminal Trespassing from the area and his wife has a Temporary Protection Order against him. Conducted an area check and well fair check on wife. All okay.
  • Fraud – S. Broad St. in reference to the complainant being scammed out of $1500. Report taken.
  • Agency Assist – W. Spring St. – Piedmont Walton in reference to Loganville PD wanting to transfer custody of a female subject who has a Monroe Failure to appear warrant. The subject was arrested, fingerprinted, and released to the Walton County Jail.
  • Juvenile Complaint – King St. in reference to the complainant having a verbal dispute with her two sons. Report taken.
  • Hit and run – W. Spring St. – Piedmont Walton in reference to the complainant having his 2008 Chevrolet Aveo struck in the parking lot earlier this date.
  • Welfare check – E. Church St. in reference to checking on a subject who advised Advantage that he wanted to commit suicide. Subject was not on location but officers made contact with him via phone. Subject was very agitated on the phone and made concerning statements. Lawrenceville PD was advised to conduct a welfare check on the subject at Presidential Dr.
  • Assault – Lacy St. in reference to complainant stating her kids are getting picked on while riding the school bus on their way home from Atha Road Elementary. Advised to notify school personnel and bus driver.
  • Mental Person – N. Midland Ave. in reference to (14-year-old) attempting suicide and disputing with her mother and another subject. The juvenile was transported to Piedmont Walton for a mental evaluation. Report taken.
  • Suspicious vehicle – in the area of HW11 and Brewster’s. Gwinnett Sheriff’s Office stopped speeding black Honda Accord in the Golden Pantry parking lot. Gwinnett Sheriff’s Office decided to give a verbal warning instead of waiting on Walton County to arrive and issue ticket.
  • Suspicious vehicle – W. Spring St., Wal-Mart. Ref to black Infinity parked sideways in a parking space with two males that appear passed out. Two males detained, due to drugs and possible stolen property located. Case Turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division and JointOps.
  • Shoplifting – E. Spring – Valero Gas Station in reference to a subject shoplifting a case of beer. He was placed under arrest and released on copy of citation. Report taken.
  • Dispute – S. Side Mobile Home Park. The complainant advised she was in a verbal dispute with her brother. She stated that the dispute never turned physical she was just scared due to him needing anger management. Remedies given. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person – Barrett St. in reference to a subject on location wanting to go to the ER due to depression. Turned over to EMS
  • Dispute – Bridgeport Pl. Subject advised he was attempting to get his money from his mother. He stated his mother is his power of attorney and would not give him all his money. I explained to him that he would need to speak to the proper powers to be about getting the check changed. All ok.
  • Assault – Victory Dr. Subject and another got into an argument, which was said to have gotten violent. Due to conflicting stories and lack of evidence no charges were made. One subject was arrested on a warrant out of Atlanta.
  • Dispute – Tanglewood Dr. in reference to child custody issue between two parties. Options were advised. Parties went separate ways.
