MPD Reports: Students fighting on bus, assaults, mental health issues and domestic disputes

Monroe, Ga. – The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period May 16 – 23, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Person on Roosevelt Street at Hill Street. Officer was conducting an area check and observed a white male in camouflage standing in the middle of the road acting strange. Officer made contact with the subject who proceeded to complain about officers not patrolling in the neighborhood. He was advised that this officer was currently patrolling the neighborhood. Male subject appeared to have mental issues.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Cook St. Juvenile called in reference to his child’s mother interfering with the custody of his child. Negative contact with his juvenile son or mother on location. Remedies advised and report taken.
  • Dispute – Landers St. Dexter Brown and roommate Brentsie Walton were involved in an extended physical dispute. Both parties had superficial injuries. Both parties arrested for Domestic Violence Battery.
  • Assault – W. Spring St. at George Walton Academy in reference to two Walnut Grove High School students fighting on the bus. Subject punched victim in the head causing a laceration and bleeding. The subject was arrested for battery and disrupting a school. He was released to his mother.
  • Lost Item – S. Hammond Dr. – Government Building in reference to a lost or mislaid property report. Trailer tag (TL9500I) fell off. Tag entered onto GCIC.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St. – Bank of America in reference to a subject getting thrown from a vehicle. Contact was made with the complainant who stated he was in a verbal dispute with his wife over infidelity. The complainant stated he was not struck by the vehicle, but he pushed himself off her vehicle as she sped off. The wife was not on location upon officer arrival.  Report taken.
  • Unknown Law – Pierce St. Subject was upset with her mother after her father dropped her off at home early. Subject advised the officer on the scene that she wanted to cause harm to herself and was afraid she would act on her thoughts. She was transported to Piedmont Walton for a voluntary mental health evaluation.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St., Wal-Mart. two were arrested for shoplifting at Walmart. Both parties were released on copy of the citation.
  • Mental patient – W. Marable St. Not mental patient, EMS assist, b/f possibly 2 months pregnant with blood clot discharge. Turned over to EMS.
  • Assault – E. Spring St., Monroe Motor Inn. Dispute beetween two parties. Both parties were charged with criminal trespass due to damaged property. Gerrode was also charged with obstruction.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – In reference to Red Dodge Neon parked in the roadway. Impounded by Taylor’s.
  • Illegal Drugs – Norris St.: In reference to multiple subjects on location doing meth.  One subject is disabled with dementia.  Subjects daughter who is supposed to be taking care of him.  The daughter allowed us to check the house for Brandon Daws who has a warrant with Walton County Sheriff’s Office with negative contact.  Due to the filth in the house and the daughter advising, Daws and his girlfriend have been on location a miscellaneous report will be completed along with a Elder Abuse report done through DFACS.
  • Civil Matter – South Broad Street: Complainant advised she wanted information on how to retrieve an ATV from her ex-husband. She was advised to seek legal representation.
  • Dispute – Etten Dr. Complainant wanted subject to be removed from the location. The complainant was advised about the eviction process.
  • Domestic 4th Street:  Had conflicting stories and no witnesses. Report taken.
  • Domestic – Etten Dr.: Complainant stated Nicole Nicolai grabbed her arm leaving a bruise underneath her right arm. Nicole Nicolai was arrested for battery and transported to the Walton County Jail. Report Taken.
  • Fraud – S. Broad St.:  Complainant said her sister took her debit card and used her debit to pay for her rent and utilities without her consent. Report taken.
  • Sexual Assault – Pine Park St. – In reference to an assault which occurred earlier in the day. Turned over to Criminal Investigation Division.
  • Assault – Church’s Chicken in reference to two subjects allegedly assaulting two females on Perry St.  Warrants to be taken on both subjects.
  • Theft – Southside.  The complainant stated multiple items were taken from her residence including a .22 pistol.  She did not have the serial number for the pistol.  She stated she believes her daughter was responsible for taking the items.  She did not know where her daughter would be.  Report taken.
  • Fight – Perry St.  Caller stated a group of subjects were fighting and one was possibly armed with a gun.  Officer made contact with a group of subjects who advised nobody was fighting.  The area was checked.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 78/Unisia Dr. in reference to a silver passenger vehicle failing to maintain lane.  Officer was able to observe the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop due to a moving violation.  The driver was cited for failure to maintain lane.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Masters Drive.  The complainant stated her grandson has been disrespectful and needed advice on how to handle the situation.  She was given remedies.
  • Counterfeit – Taco Bell in reference to getting a counterfeit movie money $10.
  • Flagged down – PD parking lot. subject requested her son removed from GCIC. She has custody of said child, he was removed from GCIC.
  • Dispute – E. Fambrough St: In reference to a fight involving juveniles. Report taken.
  • Noise Complaint – N. Midland: Verbal warning. All ok.
  • Suspicious Person – S. Broad: Subject located sleeping in hammocks on the scene, was provided a hotel room via FISH for the evening. Subject advised that he is currently homeless, looking for a job.
  • Wanted Person – Ash Lane. Served warrant on Dustin Gunn who was wanted for Aggravated Assault. Dustin was on location and taken into custody without incident.
