MPD Reports: Subject arrested for DUI after being found passed out at the wheel

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period March 28 to April 3, 2019. Due to the length, this report was split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note and arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Follow up – S. Broad St. Previous case involving subject owing the store owner money. Money was paid.  Situation resolved.
  • Traffic Stop – Hwy 78 at the Walton Truck Stop – Subject was cited for Parking in a Handicap Spot and no Insurance.  Vehicle towed by Taylors.
  • Noise Complaint – Fambrough St. Small party. Party was advised to keep the noise down and to keep the roadway clear. All ok
  • Suspicious vehicle – Hwy 78 and Highway 11. Mr. Reynolds arrested for Driving under the influence and driving with suspended license.
  • Fight – East Fambrough St. Two anonymous callers advised of a fight in the street. Complainant claimed subject hit her in the lip. Parties from apartments both shut down and report taken, advised of the warrant process.
  • Party – Creek View. A large party with roadway blocked in the entire neighborhood. Party dispersed, all ok.
  • Fight – Hillcrest. Residents at two apartments, both residents received a disorderly house citation.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – W. Spring St., Walmart. Subject was found passed out at the wheel. He was subsequently arrested for DUI. Turned over to GA State Patrol.
  • Domestic dispute – Perry St. Son, (schizophrenia patient) arguing with mother. Situation initially mediated where son took his medication and agreed to go to bed. The son then approached an officer’s vehicle while officers were attempting to leave with what appeared to be a crowbar and refused to drop it. Son was tased and transported to Piedmont Walton by EMS and released on a copy of Disorderly Conduct. The crowbar was later determined to be a metal piece of fencing.
  • Damage to property – Davis St. – Complainant advised a subject knocked on the door while she was in bed and heard a window break. The complainant saw the subject on her porch. The subject was gone when officer’s arrived.
  • Dispute – Davis St. – Charles Blade was arrested for Criminal Trespass after breaking a window at this location.
  • Suspicious Person – Towler St. Reference to subject banging on complainant’s door. Contact was made with the subject and he advised he took bad 38D (drug) and was having an adverse reaction. EMS was notified and responded. Turned over to EMS
  • Suspicious Person – W. 5th Street in reference to a W/M in a green jacket trying to get into complainant’s residence. The complainant stated a white male was at her door acting strange and tried to make entry. She believed it was her neighbor. Her husband and another neighbor advised the male appeared to be on some kind of drugs and possibly disoriented. The neighbor stated the male left the area in a vehicle. Negative contact.
  • Animal Complaint – Walton St. / Wayne St. in reference to an opossum with rabies in the roadway. All ok, the opossum was removed.
  • Juvenile Complaint – King St. in reference to a juvenile being put out by his mother. The situation was mediated. Report taken
  • Civil Issue – 116 S. Broad St. in reference to a civil issue regarding a $350 transmission sold between two parties. Advised of civil remedies
