MPD Reports: Subject hit one of his cars with another while washing them both

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period June 25 – July 2, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Other Law – Glen Iris Dr. in reference to previous towed car. Explained law stating cars can’t be parked in roadway or on sidewalks and no owner could be located. Given directions to Taylors. 

Hit and Run – Lacy St.in reference to a vehicle which struck another parked car. Caller only wanted report for insurance reasons. All ok. 

Drag Racing – S. Madison and Vine St. Area checked, no contact. 

Prowler – Turner St. Complainant stated he saw someone shine a light in his window and leave the area on foot. The area was searched with negative contact. 

Other Law – E. Spring St. in reference to a caller reporting possible dispute in next room. Contact was made and all was ok. 

Domestic – Ridge Rd. The complainant stated that a subject had assaulted her. He was gone when officers arrived. Warrants were taken for Battery FV and three counts of Cruelty to Children in the Third. 

Suspicious Activity – Chestnut Ln. – In reference to a car alarm going off. Owner check Ring door app and saw a person on video, nothing was taken from the vehicle, property check and no one found. 

Dispute – W. Spring St., Pizza Hut. Ref to a couple arguing, left in separate vehicles headed towards the downtown area. The male subject was stopped, questioned and let go, tried to contact female by phone, the female was gone when officers arrived. 

Suspicious person – W. Spring St., Walton Athletic 24. Subject on location, advised he was waiting on Papa John’s to open then he would be on his way. All ok 

Threats – N. Broad St., Deer Acers. Complainant advised that subject has threatened to fight his wife via text. The complainant was advised of options. The subject was advised to leave the complainant alone. 

Entering Auto – Winsor Dr. Complainant went out to his vehicle this date and noticed his firearm was missing. The firearm has been entered onto GCIC as stolen. Report taken 

Harassment – S. Broad St, MPD. Ref to a complainant being harassed by girlfriend’s husband. 

Damage to property – S. Broad St., MPD. in reference to hitting his own vehicle with his second vehicle while washing them. Case number was given. 

Suicidal Threats – W. Spring St; Goody’s. Complainant concerned because her husband threatened to harm himself. Husband stated he was fine and did not need help. 

Damage to property – W. Spring St., Alcovy Sign Professionals. Ref to someone moving a cherry picker vehicle, no DTP. 

Damage to property – Ridge Rd. Ref to both front tires being slashed, Person of interest ex- boyfriend, CID notified. Report and photos taken. 

Welfare check – Mill Stone Bluff. Complainant dropped off juvenile at address, then wanted to check welfare of juvenile. Officers made contact with subject, who was turned over to his mother. 

Illegal parking – GW Carver Homes. Two vehicles belonging to a unit parked in the circle. Both will be moved by the owner. 

Child Custody – S. Broad St., Chevron. Complainant wanted assistance retrieving her child from subject, who has had the child with DFACS knowledge and approval. Comlainant was advised to contact DFACS. 

Firearms – Sorrells St in reference to gunshots heard in the area. After investigation, shell casings were located, and a subject citedtied for discharga ing firearm within the city. 

Domestic Dispute – Towler St; Third party report of a dispute that took place at a separate location. Unable to verify location or make contact with either party. 

Traffic Stop -HWY 78 WB at Charlotte Rowel Blvd. Vehicle was stopped for no tag light. Probable cause search was conducted. Marijuana was located inside the vehicle. Marijuana was turned into evidence to be destroyed. Driver and passenger were sent on their way. 

Dispute – Booth Dr in reference to complainant’s ex-girlfriend taking his vehicle. Complainant retrieved his vehicle and left the scene without incident. 

Dispute – W. Creek Cir. Report of dispute between multiple subjects, one subject allegedly armed with a metal pole. Made contact with several subjects on scene who provided conflicting accounts of the incident that took place. One subject was transported by E.M.S. for minor injuries. He did not wish to press charges. Report taken. 

Dispute – Lacy St. Ref to two parties arguing. One party voluntarily left the residence with her belongings and parties were separated. All ok. 

Follow up – Lacy St. Subject voluntarily removing herself from the home and getting her belongings and taking them to a friends’ house on Lacy St. All ok. 

Follow up – Ridge Rd. in reference to speaking with the victim, a warrant was taken out on the subject in report. All evidence attached to report as well. 

Follow up – Ridge Rd. in reference to speaking with a witness from the incident above. 

Theft report – Cloverdale Dr. Ref to catalytic converter taken from vehicle. Complainant advised that someone stole the catalytic converter from her Ford Escape which was located in her driveway during nighttime hours. Report taken. 

Damage to Property – Lacy St. Vehicle hit another while backing out of driveway, report taken. 

Theft report – GW Carver Dr. Complainant reported his Ruger pistol went missing from his sister’s apartment sometime after Saturday. Report taken. 

Discharging firearm – Sorrells St. in reference to 3 subjects shooting a firearm, 1 subject ran on foot upon officer arrival towards Cook Pl. Negative contact with any weapons
