MPD Reports: Subject in need of medical service says someone put meth in his drink

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Dec. 12 – 19, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Vehicle – S. Broad St. at HWY 78 in reference to a blue Chevrolet car failing to maintain the lane. Officer Gibbs located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was tired and was ok to drive. 
  • Suspicious person – W. Spring St. in reference to a black male wearing a blue sweatshirt crossing in the middle of the roadway. Negative contact
  • Noise Complaint – S. Broad St. in reference to neighbor playing drums loudly. Neighbor given warning about noise level. Advised it would stop, All okay.
  • EMS Assist – Charlotte Rowell; In reference to a subject having a reaction to methamphetamine that he alleged was put in his drink. The subject was intoxicated and transported to Piedmont Walton by EMS.
  • Suspicious Person – Reed Way – In reference to subject knocking on doors. Made contact with the subject who said he was trying to find his girlfriend’s house. The subject sent on his way.
  • Suspicious Person – E. Spring St. – (1025 Church): In reference to a subject causing a disturbance. He was asked to leave the property – possibly homeless staying in the area.
  • Traffic Stop – Reed Way / Arnold Pt. – In reference to a subject riding his bike into oncoming traffic. Refused to comply with orders and arrested for obstruction.
  • Burglary – S. Broad Street in reference to 2 while males appearing to pry the door open and enter the residence. Negative contact with anyone on location but did check the residence due to an open door. The residence appeared abandoned.
  • Assault – Booth Dr.: In reference to two people disputing. Both subjects stated they hit one another but denied charges. They did not meet the Family Violence standard.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St. A female subject was placed under arrest for shoplifting $60.27 worth of items. She was also charged with another shoplifting case that occurred on July 16, 2019.
  • Mental patient – Baker S.; Elderly female suffering from dementia was transported to Piedmont Walton by EMS.
  • Missing person – Wellington Way. The complainant stated that she has not heard /seen her ex-husband since Oct 3, and she has spoken with his friends and they too have not had any contact. She stated that he lives in Dekalb County, they were contacted and conducted a welfare check but had no contact. She was advised that she would have to have them do the report.
  • Dispute – Landers St. in reference to two people were arguing in their yard. Made contact with a subject at Lander St. and he claimed no one was arguing in the area.
  • Suspicious person – WALMART. A subject was on location asking people for money. He was Criminal Trespassed from the location and a family member gave him a ride home.
  • Fight – Harris St. Subject on location stated that he was jumped because he was accused of pulling a gun on someone. He was arrested for DOC and transported to the Walton County Jail.
  • Fire assist – Vine St S. Broad. Assisting fire, due to a trailer being fully engulfed. Fireman on location advised she will conduct an arson investigation once safe to do so, Criminal Investigation Division notified.
  • Suspicious Person – Harris St. at Church Street in reference to a subject in the area. Subject told to go home. All okay.
  • Extra Patrol – Spruce Lane in reference caller saw a small blk Toyota truck drive past his house at the same time his wife was opening the garage door and the occupants slowed down looked in the garage drove past then came back and pulled into the driveway. The complainant saw this take place across the street he works for the city sanitation department he confronted the occupants and they took off / occupied by a white/male.
  • Vehicle fire – W. Spring St., Walton Athletic 24. Turned over to Monroe Fire. The vehicle was towed by Taylors per owners’ request.
  • Traffic stop – at Breedlove and Shops of Breedlove. Jeffery Cantrell arrested for Driving while license suspended, speeding, and windshield requirements.
  • Traffic stop – W. Creek Cir. Feshown Cooper was arrested for a warrant out of Winder PD. He was transported to the Walton Co. Jail. Report taken.
  • Burglary In Progress – Straight Street Family- in reference to a light being on in the church. All doors were locked. Officers walked through and made sure all was ok.
  • Damage to Property – Plaza Dr – Complainant advised someone broke the screen off of her back- bedroom window. Report taken
