The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Aug. 20 – 27, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Theft – E. Spring St. (Valero) -In reference to a white female stealing beer from the gas station. The manager denied pressing charges. She was previously trespass from this location but since employees allowed her to come back on the property the trespass was voided.
Mental Patient – West Spring Street at Piedmont Walton Hospital in reference to an unruly mental evaluation patient. Patient sedated by medical staff without incident.
Extra Patrol – Hwy 78 & Unisia Dr. – In reference to the traffic light flashing red. Area was checked and traffic was treating the intersection as a four way stop. DOT notified. All ok.
Patrol – Glen Iris Drive in reference to homeowner being away with family and concerns of people trespassing on the property.
Entering Auto – Tall Oaks East – In reference to complainant reporting that someone had entered her car last Wednesday and took her Xbox 1s and used her debit card that was on file on the game system to buy items.
Dispute – Pine Park St. Unit E – In reference to the complainant’s daughter and granddaughter arguing. Upon Officers arrival one subject advised that she wanted to hurt herself and she was transported to Piedmont Walton Hospital for a voluntary Mental Health Evaluation.
Traffic Stop – Sorrells St / North Broad St: In reference to a traffic violation. The driver had a Pardons & Parole warrant and was arrested. Vehicle was towed by Taylor’s. Report made.
Found Property -N. Hammond Dr. In reference to a wallet found on a fire hydrant. A driver’s license was inside the wallet belonging to subject. Wallet was returned to subject.
Assault – South Broad St in reference to victim was assaulted by subject on 08/22/2020 at Tanglewood Dr.
Theft – E. Washington St. Synovous Bank – In reference to multiple transactions on victims’ bank account. Turned over to CID.
Dispute – West Spring Street at Piedmont Walton in reference to an ER patient being unruly.
Juvenile Complaint – Forrest Lane: in reference to dispute between son and his mother. Parties mediated and separated.
Hit and Run – W. Spring St Taco Bell. White Chevy Silverado struck vehicle in drive thru and left the scene.
Dispute – Bold Spring Rd – Dispute between two parties, argument got loud, nothing physical.
Shoplifting – W. Spring St. – Subject arrested for shoplifting. Processed at MPD and release on copy.
Dispute – Knight St – Dispute Between two parties. Dispute was not physical and both parties were advised of civil remedies.
Shoplifting – W. Spring St. – Subject caught shoplifting at Walmart was arrested, charged, fingerprinted, and released.
Traffic Stop – Hwy 78 & Cherry Hill – In reference to Silver Chevrolet Impala being stopped for failing to maintain lane. Further investigation led to the arrest of a subject for DUI-Alcohol.
