MPD Reports: Tractor/trailer leaves scene after collision with school bus

The City of Monroe reported the following incidents for the period April 10 – 17, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Found Property -G.W. Carver Dr. – In reference to old .22 rifle found in a trash can. Firearm placed into safekeeping.
  • Stolen Vehicle – E. Washington St. – In reference to a complainant’s vehicle being taken overnight. Possible suspect.
  • Agency Assist – Alcovy Street: Tabitha Mauldin on location and Oconee was in route to pick up the subject.  Oconee Deputy arrived and took Mauldin into custody.
  • Trespassing – S. Wayne St. – In reference to someone sleeping on the porch of home belonging to the complainant.  The complainant would like subject criminally trespassed if found.
  • Dispute – Plaza Drive: Complainant said her ex-boyfriend, Adam Brown, came into her apartment through an unsecured back door.  After an argument, the complainant said Brown choked her and then punched a hole in the wall before leaving.  Brown has conditions of bond to stay away from the complainant. Complainant is on probation in juvenile court and has been told to have no contact with Brown.  No family violence. Report taken.
  • Theft – Wellington Dr.  Complainant advised her son’s phone was stolen from his classroom at Walnut Grove High School.  It was pinging at Bridgeport Pl.  Due to the incident occurring in the County it was turned over to Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St. in reference to a subject being intoxicated and causing a disturbance with staff.  It was explained to subject that he could not leave until he was cleared by a Doctor.  All ok.
  • Damage To Property – N. Hammond Dr.  Complainant advised that someone between 1815 and 0445 hours a vehicle ran into the business. A vehicle was observed in the video but was unable to get a clear look.  The complainant stated he was going to observe more video and see if he can get a better view. Report taken.
  • Vehicle Accident – Tall Oaks Dr. – In reference to a school bus, with four passengers, struck by a tractor-trailer. The trailer did not stop. Turned over to Georgia State Patrol.
  • Suspicious Person/Arrest – E. Washington St./S. Madison Ave.: Kelly Timm arrested for Loitering.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St.- Piedmont Walton – In reference to an individual wanting to leave the hospital.  She was advised of the medical condition and left in the care of husband at the hospital.
  • Civil Issue – S. Broad St. – In reference to eviction. All parties advised of steps.
  • Fire Assist – Morrow Street:  Turned over to Monroe Fire Department.
  • Large Group Disputing – Lacy St./Pine Park St.: Adults in the area advised juveniles were disputing over something that was supposed to happen yesterday. Juveniles dispersed upon their arrival.
