MPD Reports: Tree falls on Hyundai, damage by stray dog left inside home

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period June 20 – 27, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Domestic Dispute – Atha St. in reference to complainant reporting a dispute between her daughter and a subject. The subject currently has warrants for family violence battery and false imprisonment from a previous domestic incident with the daughter. The subject was gone on arrival. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – on Hwy 78 EB at Hwy 11 SB in reference to a small SUV pulling a trailer with a lawn mower and the brakes not working. Officer stopped the vehicle at CVS. Probable cause search was conducted with negative findings. Warning citations were issued.
  • EMS Assist – Towler St. – Monroe Skydive in reference to a third party stating they saw someone possibly make a hard landing at the airport. Contact made with Monroe Skydive who advised it was an extra parachute. All was ok.
  • Traffic Stop – E Washington St. at Wheeler St. A white Honda Accord was stopped for a suspended tag. After further investigation, it was determined not to have valid insurance. The driver was cited for both and vehicle was towed by Jays.
  • Dispute – S. Broad St. in reference to male and female fighting inside males’ truck while going down the road. Female was observed trying to jump from the vehicle several times by the complainant. The situation was mediated and the parties were separated. Report taken.
  • Traffic stop – at Harris St and Lacy St. Walter Clark arrested for Driving While License Suspended, and seatbelt.
  • Burglary in progress – Tall Oaks Ln. Complainant advised she was lying in bed when she heard someone knocking on her front door. The complainant said she asked who it was and the subject began to turn the door handle rapidly. The subject did not make entry.
  • Unsecure prims – S. Broad St., Your Pie. Located during foot patrol. Building cleared and re-secured, all ok.
  • Roadway blockage – Oakland Ridge and Alcovy. Ref to a tree laying across the road. The tree was moved, all ok.
  • Civil Issue – S. Madison Ave – Walton County Sheriff’s Office in reference to the subject having questions about the eviction process. All ok.
  • Traffic Stop – N. Madison Ave / Bold Springs Ave. Bobbie Williams was stopped for Driving While License Suspended. He was arrested, fingerprinted, and released on copy of the citation.
  • Damage to Property – W. Fambrough St. in reference to complainant reporting damage to her home from a dog left inside the residence while she was on vacation. The complainant stated the stray dog was left in the residence by her former roommate. Report taken.
  • Traffic Stop – Charlotte Rowell Blvd / Double Springs Ch. Rd. Connector. The vehicle was stopped for a brake light violation. The subject was arrested for driving with no valid license. He was fingerprinted and released on cthe opy of citation.
  • Damage to Property – Roosevelt St. in reference to a tree falling on a 2013  Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. Report taken.
  • Agency Assist – Peter St. in reference to standing by with an officer from Gwinnett PD on a death notification.
