MPD Reports: Two arrested on multiple felony warrants related to a shooting

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period May 14 – 21, 2020. Due to the length of this report, it has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Warrant attempt – Jessica Way. A male and a female were arrested for multiple felony warrants related to Cook Pl. shooting. CID notified for interviews. 
  • Recovered stolen vehicle – Tall Oaks Dr. Silver Ford Fusion that was taken overnight was located at Tall Oaks Ln. The vehicle was towed to Monroe Fire Dept. and CID was notified.
  • Entering auto – Victory Dr. Spoke to complainant/victim and she advised that her vehicle doors were left unlocked. She came outside this morning around 0820 hours and found her driver door and left rear passenger door open. Her center console was rummaged through and an iPhone was stolen. The victim stated that it was an old iPhone and was not being used unless it was needed. The victim did not request a report to be taken at this time.
  • Theft report – S. Broad St., Southside MHP. Ref to letters taken off sign.
  • Follow up – S. Broad St., Southside MHP, at the mailboxes. Property manager located missing letters from previous theft call.
  • Found property – E. Spring St., Spring Street Family Dentistry. Ref to a bike found behind the business.
  • Civil issue – Custom Way. Spoke to the complainant and she advised that she wanted to try and get her trailer back since she has the title in her name. Complainant advised that she loaned the trailer to a friend and allowed him to put the registration in his name. The complainant was advised on civil remedies.
  • Request to meet – S. Broad St., MPD. The complainant of Southern Roots requested subject be barred from the business.
  • Traffic Stop – W. Spring at Gwinnett Clinic. A green Honda Civic was stopped for a brake light violation. After making contact with the driver, he refused to identify himself. The driver was escorted out of his car and placed into handcuffs. After speaking to an officer, he was issued citations for the brake light and disorderly conduct.
  • Dispute – Maple St. Brother and Sister arguing over $10. It will be a civil issue. Explained remedies.
  • Fraud – 6th St. Debit Card fraud through a cash app. Complainant advised that her mother’s and father’s bank cards were charged fraudulently. The report was taken to document the incident and to allow victims to file a fraud claim through their bank (First Citizens Bank).
  • Dispute – Lacy St. Subject on location causing a disturbance.
  • Follow up – W. Marable St. near Smith Memorial Church. The subject involved in a dispute last night requested officer presence while his vehicle without insurance is moved.
  • Citizen flag down – S. Broad St, MPD. A female reported that her social security number was used to open fraudulent accounts.
  • Dispute – Bold Springs Ave. Reference subject disputing with her sister. No acts of Family Violence occurred parties were separated. All ok.
  • Civil Issue – Mears St; Walton Community Church. Made contact with subjects in reference to a sold vehicle. Remedies advised. All ok.
  • Traffic Stop – N. Broad St. & Carver Dr. Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver Deondre Thomas had an active felony warrant out of the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Thomas was transported to the WCSO jail without incident.
  • Dispute – Ash Lane – In reference to a verbal dispute over a missing toolbox.The situation was mediated and parties involved were advised of available remedies.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Hammond Park. The subject advised she was waiting on a child custody exchange. The subject was advised on remedies on driving without a proper license and given a ride to Davis St. All ok
  • Shots Fired – Ridge Rd. Report of gunshots in the area. Area checked, negative contact. All ok.
  • Burglary in Progress – E. Church St. – No signs of burglary observed. All doors and windows secure. House is vacant.
  • Welfare Check – Davis St. – In reference to complainant advising she had a snake inside her residence. She was advised to call a Pest Control Service.
  • Animal Complaint – Alcovy St. In reference to dogs continuously barking. Negative contact with owners.
  • Dispute – MLK Jr. Blvd – In reference to a black male and female fighting and the male was pushing the female against the car. Subjects advised everything was ok and they were just playing.
  • Dispute – Lacy St. in reference to complainant upset due to subject damaging property in the living room. The subject was gone on foot when officers arrived and the complainant did not witness her damage any property.
  • Dispute – Lacy St. in reference to complainant reporting her daughter was back on location and banging on the door. The mother let the daughter inside.
  • Assault – S. Madison Ave. in reference to two subjects being in a physical altercation on Sunday over gas money.
  • Missing Person – S. Madison Ave. at Abundance of Love in reference to a White male 71 years old left the location thirty minutes prior. Call was canceled because the subject returned back home.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St. at Haven Inn in reference to male refusing to leave the room at checkout. Subject was given a courtesy ride to Piedmont Walton in reference to diabetic issues.
  • Suspicious Person – E. Church St. at the Chevron in reference to a b/m asking for money from customers.
  • Found Property – Gatewood Way in reference to a wallet found outside. The subject found a wallet that belongs to person on Gatewood Way. The wallet was given to a subject to give it to the owner.
  • Traffic Stop – Hwy 78 W. just before 138 Exit. Citation issued Failure to use a turn signal.
  • Fight – Lacy St. in reference to a large gathering and subjects fighting in the roadway. All subjects dispersed upon officer arrival.
  • Sexual Assault – W. Spring St. at Quality Foods in reference to subject reporting being touched inappropriately and propositioned by her step-father. Turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division.
  • Dispute – Etten Dr. in reference to complainant arguing with the subject. The complainant wanted an Officer to tell the subject to stop yelling at them and coming into their bedroom.
  • Other Law – Ridge Road The complainant stated her neighbor told her she was being assaulted in her apartment for the past three months and does not know who is assaulting her.
  • Fraud – W. Washington St. in reference her ex-boyfriend using her debit card without permission. Report taken.
  • Theft – E. Washington St. in reference to a subject having pills and a colt pocket 32 stolen from his residence.
  • Discharge Firearms – in area of E. Spring St. and Felker St.
  • Dispute Report – Southside MHP -Reference to two subjects. One stating no dispute took place, the other was gone on arrival. Called in by a third party
  • Domestic Dispute Report – Claywill Cir. In reference to a subject stating that he had an altercation with his stepdaughter on the date prior. The stepdaughter was not available to give a statement. Report taken.
