MPD Reports: Unruly juvenile complaints, warrant pick ups, suicide attempt and mental health issue

The City of Monroe Police Department has reported the following incidents for the period Nov. 19 – 26, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been splint into four parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Fraud – Kendall Ct. Ref to charges being charged to a named debit card. Remedies were advised. Report taken. 

Dispute – Springer Ln. Pest control company on location being denied entry by a tenant. Civil options advised. 

Traffic stop – South Broad St. and Walker Dr. Assisted JointOps with traffic stop, all ok. 

Roadway Hazard – HW 138 and Michael Etchison Rd. Complainant reported piece of metal in the roadway. Metal was removed and complainant advised they did not want a police report. 

EMS assist – Rose Ison Terr. Ref to a one-month-old that fell out of a bed and was unresponsive. All ok, baby was responsive and crying on officer arrival. Turned over to EMS. 

Theft report – South Broad St. Lawn mower stolen sometime between 11/16 and 11/20. Entered onto GCIC and report taken. 

Theft in progress – Gliding Ln. Named subject took a bike out of a yard. Contact with the subject was made at Hot Spot. Criminal Trespass from complainant. 

Juvenile problem – South Broad St., Southside MHP. Ref to a 12-year-old that left to play and is refusing to return home. Parent advised of options. 

Entering auto – East Church St., Chestnut Cupboard. Ref to money taken out of vehicle overnight. Report declined. 

Dispute – Gliding Ln. In reference to the complainant advising their cousin is trying to fight them. Complainant advised they have both consumed alcohol. Dispute between two subjects that he just wanted the other subject not to come back onto his property. Parties were separated and remedies were advised. All ok. 

Welfare Check – 12-year-old male that lives with his mother. Complainant advised the male is his son and was supposed to be picked up by his Aunt for the weekend. Juvenile advised plans were re- scheduled for next weekend. Juvenile appears to be healthy. All appears ok. 

Dispute – Gliding Ln Apt A. In reference to the complainant advising a subject threw a table into the yard causing it to break. It was determined that the table was already broken. Parties separated. 

Traffic Stop) On Lacy St at Harris St. Vehicle was stopped for not using its right turn signal. The driver (17-year-old was taken into custody for OCGA 40-5-20(A) Driving without a valid drivers’ license. Vehicle was removed from the scene by his mother. The driver was fingerprinted and released on copy. Report taken. 

Traffic Stop – 6th St. Vehicle was stopped for a brake light violation. During investigation it was discovered that a subject had (3) outstanding arrest warrants from Warner Robins Police Department, Conyers Police Department, and Walton County Sheriff’s Office. He was taken into custody and transported to the WCSO jail without incident. Report taken. 

Other Law – S Madison Ave. WCSO. In reference to a deputy advising a subject is in the jail lobby with baby shoes and saying something about a missing child. Subject is flagged as a mental patient. Lady was given a ride back to her residence at Tanglewood Dr. All ok. 

Warrant attempt – Etten Dr. Attempted contact with subject who was confirmed to be already in custody. 

Warrant attempt – West Marble St. Apt. 7. Attempted contact with a subject at the apartment. Negative contact. 

Warrant attempt – Tanglewood Dr. Attempted contact with a subject. Negative contact at the residence. 

Suicide attempt/Overdose – Baron Dr. Patient had taken multiple of his muscle relaxers. Patient was alert, and turned over to EMS. 

Juvenile Problem – Etten Dr. and West Spring St. Ref to subject running away. Subject was located and turned over to his mother. Unruly charge was explained to mother. 

Suspicious vehicle – HW138 and HD Atha Rd. Vehicle driving into the city and onto HW78. Sliver Camry speeding and passing in no passing. Area searched with negative contact. 

Dispute – West Spring St., Burger King. Ref not to receive a receipt upon request. The staff stated the machine was broken and unable to provide a receipt. Situation mediated. 

Theft report – North Broad St., Deer Aches Ref to a cell phone missing. Subject located her cell phone and had a warrant out of Covington. Covington will not place a hold. All okay. 

Suspicious person – West Spring St., Walmart. Ref to a b/m with long dreadlocks following a female. 

Theft in progress – West Spring St, Hibbit Sports. Ref to a blk male stealing 3 pairs of shoes. Subject was gone when officers arrived, area searched with negative contact. 

Suspicious vehicle – Piedmont Pkwy. Person from Monroe Auto Sales teaching someone how to use clutch. Sent on their way. 

Other Law – Lakeview Dr. Subject wanted to check the welfare of his grandfather who has possibly not been seen since 11/18/2020. He lives in Texas and advised a family member who lived at the residence would call back with more information. 

Follow Up – West Spring St., Piedmont Walton. Hospital staff advised contractor (Head of security) using access card to see family member in violation of visitor policy while off duty. Contractor left the scene. 

Damage to property – MLK Jr. Blvd., Carmichaels. Ref to a vehicle that hit a deer earlier in the day. Incident occurred in the county, Turned over to WCSO.
