MPD Reports: Vehicle chases end with arrests and slew of charges

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period May 14 – 21, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Found Property – Towler St. – Items are trash that were intentionally put there by the residents at Towler St. They advised they are having it picked up by the trash company. 
  • Dispute – Bridgeport Pl. Complainant was upset that his daughter broke items in her bedroom while he was at work. Situation mediated.
  • Suspicious person – W. Spring St., Haven Inn. While in route to the above call, the officer observed a male walking bleeding from the mouth. Possibly fell during a seizure. Turned over to EMS.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St., WalMart. Female shoplifted seafood. Left location before officers arrived. Report taken
  • Prisoner transport – Alcovy St. Subject had a warrant for Failure to Appear, Walton County Sheriff’s Office refused subject.
  • Dispute -N. Madison Ave. near Bold Springs Ave. The complainant reported two subjects came to the gas station to fight her and another subject. No physical contact occurred and parties separated prior to officers’ arrival, report taken.
  • Shoplifting – Wal-Mart. While investigating the previous shoplifting case, the officer discovered an additional female subject shoplifted blinds. Report taken.
  • Damage to Property – Thompson Ridge Dr. Reference to an egged vehicle. While on scene contact was made with the suspect who identified herself as the one who egged the car. Subjects have been disputing for several days. Warrant to be taken for Criminal Trespass on Haley Freeman
  • Dispute – South Broad St., Johns Supermarket. A subject on location causing a disturbance. He was cited for Disorderly Conduct and criminally trespassed.
  • Dispute – Birch St. Parties were separated, a supplement will be added to the case number from prior call involving the same subjects.
  • Counterfeit – S. Broad St., MPD. Money was retrieved from an ATM in Covington, GA complainant was advised to go to Covington.
  • Harassment – New Lacy St; Complainant reported someone posting nude pictures of her on Facebook, report taken.
  • Dispute – E. Fambrough St. Two people disputing. Parties separated. Report taken
  • Damage to property – Bold Springs Ave. Complainant advised of 3 bullet holes in the front window, unknown when occurred.
  • Dispute – Green St. Ref to subjects in a maroon passenger car with guns that left the area. Traffic stop performed at Green St. Area searched with negative contact.
  • Theft report – E. Spring St, Tire Depo. Ref to a gun taken from a vehicle.
  • Follow up – S. Broad St., 360 Salon. Ref to previous theft report from Rose Ison Terr. The complainant found more items missing and made list for police.
  • Follow up – W. Marable St. in reference to complainant advising new information about the above call case.
  • Damage to property – Reed St. Vehicle was damaged. The report requested for insurance purposes.
  • Follow Up – S. Broad St. Contact was made with the complainant and she advised medications were missing from her house and requested a supplemental to her original report.
  • Request to meet – Alcovy St. Piedmont Walton medical staff requested an officer stand by while they removed an IV. All ok.
  • Dispute – N. Broad St. J and B Food Mart. Female caller borrowed phone to call police ref to a dispute and left the scene.
  • Civil Issue – S. Broad St., Frog’s Pawn. Parties disputing over pistol case. Parties mediated and advised of civil remedies.
  • Agency assist – HW78 and Cherry Hill Rd. WCSO had brief foot chase after a vehicle pursuit ended with a crash at 90 degree turn on Cherry Hill. The subject arrested by WCSO.
  • Theft Report – Booth Dr. – In reference to complainant stating her neighbors were running a drop cord from their window to a plug outlet in front of her residents, stealing power. Report taken.
  • Road Rage -Douglas St. Complainant advised that a vehicle was following their every move yet the complainant was following the vehicle in question. All was determined ok
  • Juvenile Complaint – HWY 78 WB & Hill St. In reference to several juveniles throwing objects at moving vehicles. The complainant declined a report. Juveniles were GOA. Area checked negative contact.
  • Shoplifting – Harry’s Marathon – In reference to a black male wearing a blue T-shirt walked out without paying for a bag of chips and a drink. The subject was GOA.
  • Vehicle Pursuit – N. Broad St. & Perry St. Officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a white SUV for not having its tail lights on. After a brief pursuit the final stop was at the residence of Carver Pl. A felony stop was conducted. The driver of the vehicle was identified. He was charged with Marijuana less than 1OZ, Drug-related objects, D.U.I of Alcohol, Endangerment of a child while driving under the influence of alcohol (3 Counts), Driving on a suspended license, Fleeing and attempting to elude, and Vehicle lights requirement. Warrants taken.
  • Suspicious Person – Hwy 11 & Charlotte Rowell – In reference to a white male with a yellow jacket walking in the roadway. Area checked and the subject was walking off the roadway. All ok.
