MPD Reports: Vehicle stolen from outside the Dollar Tree in broad daylight

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 8 – 14, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction,

  • Welfare Check, Felker St., Devoata dialysis requested a welfare check on male subject, contact was made, and he was ok.
  • Domestic dispute, Cedar Lane, dispute between father and his son, situation was mediated.
  • Damage to property, MPD lobby, complainant reporting damage to his vehicle in the Home Depot parking lot at the first of the month.
  • Domestic Dispute, Reed St., complainant advised that her caregiver’s husband pushed her to the ground when she asked for toilet paper.  No signs of violence or injury.  The subject has a history of reporting similar disputes.
  • Damage to Property, Martin Luther King Jr., Blvd, complainant reporting damage to his vehicle while in the car wash.
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., Ashley White was arrested for shoplifting, she was booked and released on copy of her citation
  • Fraud report taken at MPD lobby, the complainant was reporting the theft of checks in Athens and advised the suspects live in Monroe, he was referred to Athen’s Clark County Police Department.
  • Entering Auto, Towler St., complainant stated that she discovered her driver’s side door was ajar, her glove box was open, and the interior light was on. Report Taken.
  • Meet with complainant, Amber Trail, reference to a civil dispute between two subjects, was advised of how to handle the matter civilly.
  • Welfare Check, Vine St./ Squirrel Hollow Rd., WCSO has contact with runaway juvenile out of Rockdale County on Hickory Nut Way. TOT WCSO.
  • Burglary in progress, Sorrells St., the complainant reported her ex-boyfriend came to the residence to retrieve property and entered without permission. The ex-boyfriend was issued a criminal trespass warning.
  • Theft, West Creek Circle, met with the complainant, he stated she had her I-phone 6 taken from her vehicle. Report Taken.
  • Civil Matter, Sprint, reference to complainant calling because her husband showed up not wanting her to remove her phone from their account. Husband was asked to leave they were both advised to settle in divorce court.
  • Report, West Marable St., reference to complainant requesting a report due to her window at her house being broken sometime this week. Report taken
  • Dispute, East Church St., store employees were upset that a male came inside and told the other shoppers not to buy anything. They wanted the male CT but he was GOA.
  • Suspicious Person, Dairy Queen, complainant stated a male was running towards Dairy Queen wearing dark clothing.  He was located in the laundry mat and was running because it was raining.  All ok.
  • Welfare Check, West Spring St., the complainant on scene was requesting welfare check of his estranged wife. Estranged wife on scene with male subject advising she is ok.
  • Traffic Stop, N Broad St. at the Valero. Vehicle bearing tag # was stopped for no insurance and suspended tag. Driver was issued citations for both and Vehicle towed
  • Fraud, South Broad St., JDC, reference to male subject using complainant’s credit card information to purchase over $1200 worth of shirts from JDC. Warrants TBT on male subject for Forgery 1st Degree and Theft of Services.
  • Sexual Assault, West Spring St., advised an incident occurred at Ridgeview. CID was notified and responded. TOT CID
  • Fraud Report taken at MPD, the complainant stated she was approached by Metlife in reference to a job interview. She believed she got the job and sent them her information to later find out it was a scam.
  • Stolen Vehicle, West Spring St., Victim advised she came out of Dollar Tree this date around 1230 hours to find her vehicle was missing. An extensive area check was conducted with negative contact with her vehicle, a black 2016 Toyota Camry (GA tag #. The vehicle was placed on GCIC as stolen.
  • Suspicious Persons, Plaza Dr., reference to a W/M driving a White Isuzu Trooper acting suspicious in the parking lot. Vehicle GOA.
  • Fraud Report taken at S Broad St- Monroe PD, complainant advised he had named female file his 2017 taxes last year and he never received any of the money.
  • Counterfeit Money, East Marable St., HotSpot, reference to two unknown B/M’s attempting to purchase items with counterfeit bills. Both males GOA and no items were taken.
  • Dispute, S Broad St., Southside MHP, two subjects disputing over property inside of the residence. Female has not lived at the address in over a month. Property was returned and subject sent on her way.
