The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Aug. 6 – 13, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Dispute -Tanglewood Ln Caller stated that her mental sister was on location and she wanted her removed. Parties were separated.
Vehicle accident – Ammons Bridge. Caller advised of a vehicle accident, white female driver on location possible intoxicated running into the wood line. Prior to arrival she left in a black pickup truck.
Burglary in Progress – S Broad St. In reference to black male banging on the front door. Complainant advised male was gone when officers arrived. Negative contact.
Prowler – Oak Rdg. Area checked on foot. all appears ok.
Suspicious Persons – MAHS – Caller advised three trucks pulled into the school and had no business there. Upon Officers arrival subjects were gone.
Mental Patient – Mill Stone Bluff. In reference to 28-year-old male having a mental breakdown. Turned over to EMS.
Suspicious Person – E Marable St. Mathews Park. – Subjects advised of the park hours. All ok.
Suspicious Persons – W Spring St. Quality Foods. In reference to three males riding bicycles through the parking lot. Males advised that they were dumpster diving.
Dispute – Pannell Rd. In reference to boyfriend and girlfriend dispute. Parties separated.
Suspicious Person) 1490 Hwy 78, Walton Truck Stop. Homeless male on location. Subject appeared to be experiencing medical issue. Subject was turned over to EMS.
Fraud – Thompson Ridge. Reference checking account. in reference to a custody battle. Report was made and case number was given.
Dispute – W. Spring St. at Murphy USA in reference to a b/m refusing to leave. Subject was gone upon officer’s arrival, complainant advised all was ok. Area was checked with negative contact.
Entering Auto – Davis Street. Complainant’s vehicle was entered while visiting her mother for the weekend. Property was taken. Report taken.
Suspicious Vehicle – Pine Park Street. In reference to subject in an unknown vehicle possibly smoking Marijuana. Area checked negative contact.
Traffic Stop – Highway 78 and N. Broad. Vehicle stopped for speeding. Driver was Released on copy of citation for driving on suspended license.
Other Law – Walton Road. In reference to the complainant receiving a tag in the mail that doesn’t belong to her. Advised remedies.
Dispute – Davis Street Caller stated male arguing with a female pulled her into the apartment. Vehicle in backyard had open driver’s door. Back door to residence was ajar. Two occupants in the shower advised everything is ok.
Fight/Discharging Firearms – Pine Park St. In reference to shots being heard in the area of the previous fight. Upon Officer arrival back to the area after further investigating the fight five shell casings were located. Two vehicles had been struck by bullets.
Theft – Knight Street in reference to complainant claimed that someone came in to his unlocked trailer and stole his medication.
Damage to Property – Douglas St. Complainant stated a juvenile had shot her trailer window with a BB gun and ran towards W. Fambrough. Report taken.
Assault – Mill Stone Bluff – in reference to a juvenile getting jumped by other people. Juvenile taken to hospital for treatment.
Suspicious Person – S Broad & W Fambrough. In reference to prior Suspicious Person report in Southside mobile home park. White male in dark shirt and blue jean shorts walking in the area of South Broad. The subject was identified. He had a valid warrant out of the City of Monroe for Failure to appear. Further investigation led to the arrest of the subject for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana less than 1oz., and Possession of drug related objects.
Stabbing – Sims Convenience Store. The subject was found walking down W. Spring St. with an abdominal laceration and bleeding heavily. He was stabilized by officers and transported via EMS to Athens Regional.
Suspicious Persons – West Spring / West Highland Ave. Reference to two males on bicycles in the area of Spring Street at the time of the previous stabbing call. Further investigation led to the arrest of one for possession of methamphetamine and tampering with evidence.
