MPD Reports: Vehicle allegedly side-swiped by big rig in road rage incident

The City of Monroe reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 3 – 10, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Lost Wallet – Complainant said she lost her wallet at the Sub Way inside Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart customer service has the wallet. 
  • Fraud – S. Broad St.: Complainant said her cell phone was sent a phishing app on 09/15/2019. The complainant said today her phone number was taken and transferred to a Trac Phone. Report Taken.
  • Missing person – Complainant stated her daughter left her residence around 12:00 PM and never has come home.
  • Juvenile Complaint – King St.: Complainant stated a couple of juveniles came into her back yard and messed up the kids’ toys. Juveniles were gone on arrival, but live in the area. Remedies were explained to the complainant.
  • Road rage – Hwy138. The caller advised that his truck was side swipe by a tractor-trailer. Made contact with the big rig at HWY138 and HWY 78. Turned over to Walton County.
  • Hit-and-Run – Bryant Rd and E. Spring St. – In reference to street sign which was knocked down. Made contact with the driver, who was subsequently arrested for Driving on a suspended license, No insurance, failure to register vehicle, and duty upon striking a fixed object.
  • Follow Up – Storehouse Ct; In reference to earlier runaway juvenile returning home. Juvenile was taken off GCIC as missing / runaway.
  • Dispute – Armistead Cir; Subject was highly intoxicated and attempted to fight with another subject. The Third party pushed the subject away from the other subject, and one fell down and cut his head. The victim denied prosecution. Parties separated.
  • Mental Patient – Hardee’s; Subject was transported to Piedmont Walton by EMS in reference to having homicidal thoughts.
  • Trespassing – N. Broad St / Deer Acres; In reference to subject kicking in the door of room believing that his girlfriend was inside cheating on him. No damage was observed to the door, Subject agreed to pay for any damages that were found. Management denied prosecution. The subject was trespassed from the property.
  • Damage to Property – Applebee’s in reference to a silver car that was struck in the parking lot. Possible camera footage but will have to be pulled during daytime hours. Report Made
  • EMS Assist – Lacy Street; Subject was found by family lying beside the mailboxes for Pine Park St. They believed she had been assaulted by her boyfriend; however, no one witnessed the incident and the subject had no obvious signs of being assaulted. Subject was unable to recognize family members that were on scene and could not provide details of the incident. Other subjects in the area stated she is a known drug user and when she fell down by the mailboxes, she was by herself. The subject was transported to Piedmont Walton by EMS.
  • Drug-Impaired Subject – S. Broad St; Complainant reported her stepson came to her residence and attempted to kick in the back door. The stepson was observed walking in the area and stated he used too much methamphetamine this evening. Complainant did not want to press charges and the subject was transported to Piedmont Walton by EMS.
  • EMS Assist – Magnolia St; In reference to subject ingesting cannabis and alprazolam. The subject was transported to Piedmont Walton by EMS.
  • Shots fired – Claywell Cir; In reference to at least 10 rounds being fired into the windows and exterior walls of this residence. Unknown suspects, but an early 2000’s white passenger car (unknown make / unknown model / unknown occupant) was seen driving slowly past the residence around 1am. Residence belongs to victim. The residence was occupied by two juveniles and one adult at the time of the shooting.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St. @ Piedmont Walton in reference to patient with signed mental evaluation attempting to leave and being uncooperative. Patient was calmed down and all ok.
  • Discharging Firearms -Took over crime scene from night shift.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St. (Piedmont Walton): Security wanted subject to leave. Subject was transport to Ridgeview per his request.
  • Theft – N. Hamond Dr. three bicycles were stolen. Report taken.
  • Property Damage – Management advised room door was broken from subject kicking the door last night at 0112 hours. The manager advised he was going to go to the courthouse Monday to sue the subject because they agreed that he would pay for any damage to the door.
  • Domestic Dispute – Felker St.- Complainant wanted the police to kick her daughter out of her house. The complainant was told she needed to go to the courthouse to file eviction paperwork.
  • Meet With – W. Spring St. (Wal-Mart): Complainant had lost his wallet. Wallet was located at customer service desk. Declined a report. All ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – N. Broad / Charlotte Rowell: Complainant advises that the vehicle ran off the road and failure to maintain lane. Contact at Plaza Drive at W. Spring St. traffic stop at his residence All ok. Sleep driver.
  • Domestic Dispute – S. Madison Ave. Dispute. Tomika Reynolds and another subject got into a physical altercation. Tomika was placed under arrest.
  • Suicide Attempt? W. Spring St. Caller advised that a black male was passed out in a car. Made contact male was ok he was just sleeping while his wife shopped.
  • Damage to Property – Tanglewood Lane: Complainant stated that a black Jeep struck the side of his vehicle. Report taken.
