MPD Reports: Wrong way driver arrested, dispute over wrong food order and snoring scare

The City of Monroe reported the following incidents for the period Nov. 2 – 8, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Robbery, Piedmont, reference to complainant unknown granddaughter calling the police. Upon my arrival I made contact with James. He stated at a girl he was dating stole money from him. Complainant could not advise the subjects name or a complete story as to what happened or venue. Complainant declined to press charges at this time.
  • Meet With, South Broad St., Hardees, met with complainant,  reference being homeless. Transported him to the Haven Inn for the night. FISH was able to put him up for the night. All ok.
  • Dispute, North Broad St., reference to an irate customer. Upon Officers arrival contact was made with complainant. Complainant stated she paid for food and they got her order wrong.  When she told the staff one of the female employees got an attitude with her and slammed the window in her face.  She stated she tapped the window to get their attention.  Employees on scene stated that complainant punched the window and cracked it. Witness on scene advised that complainant did not punch the window and told the same story complainant stated.  It was determined no criminal act took place.  Situation was mediated.
  • Suspicious Person, West Spring St., reference to an elderly male walking in the road with a walker.  Negative contact with the subject.
  • Burglary, East Tall Oaks Dr., complainant advised the back door to the residence was open and subjects were inside the residence. Contact made with female subject who is the new resident to this address. All okay.
  • Prowler Call, Carver Place, met with the complainant who stated that someone was banging on the kitchen door. No damage GOA. All ok.
  • Traffic Stop, North Broad/78 Off ramp. Mr. Euriseo Sorrells stopped for driving on the wrong side of the roadway. Mr. Sorrells was arrested for (Driving with suspended licence, Marijuana Less than 1 Ounce and Disorderly Conduct) after a brief scuffle.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Magnolia Terrace, Complainant advised unfamiliar with a vehicle that was in her driveway. Hit & Run from earlier this date. Reference to case # Vehicle towed by towing co.
  • EMS Assist, Shamrock Dr., male subject passed out on location due to a spider bite. Turned over to EMS.
  • Dispute, Radford St, reference to complainant calling because she thinks her roommates  hid a crack pipe in her bedroom. Roommate was under the influence of narcotics. Roommate left for the night due to subject being high.
  • Prowler, South Broad St., reference to complainant hearing someone on her deck. The area was checked with negative contact. Extra patrol requested.
  • Dispute, Davis St., complainant advised argue over keys. preventing the driver to drive due to being intoxicated.
  • Unknown Law, South Madison/Mill St., reference to a female standing by a vehicle and yelling for help. Officer was able to make contact with the passengers of the vehicle who advised they were just needing a ride due to their vehicle breaking down.  All ok.
  • Traffic Stop, Broad St./Church St., driver was driving a vehicle that did not have a tag on it. During the investigation of the traffic stop it was found that the truck did not have insurance.  The vehicle was towed by towing co. And driver was issued a citation for no insurance.
  • Extra Patrol, Walton Press, reference to two males on location who ran into the woods when an employee opened the front door of the business. Officers patrolled the area and had negative contact.
  • Civil matter, Nowell St., Parties on location intoxicated waiting for a ride all was ok.
  • Dispute, complainant called to get her cousin a ride home to Covington. Complainant advised the cousin could stand outside and wait for the taxi. All ok, negative on family violence.
  • Dispute, Nowell St., complainant called back to advise her cousin was knocking on the door. Parties were told to stay separated until the taxi arrived. All ok, negative on family violence.
  • Traffic Stop, Hwy 78 East/ Aycock Ave. Christopher Reid was stopped for multiple traffic violations. Christopher had warrants and a suspended license.
  • Welfare Check, Davis St., per Jackson County DFACS in reference to checking on two juveniles on location. Negative contact.
  • EMS Assist, Tanglewood Dr., female subject was found DOA by her daughter.  Coroner advised natural causes CID notified.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Walton Rd., mother advised that her 4-year-old was playing with a lighter and trying to catch a bag of clothes on fire. He was extremely upset upon police presence. After speaking with the officer, all was ok.  Mother was advised to give a progress report on the child’s behavior in order to receive a goody bag.
  • Assault, Radford St., reference to female subjects disputing over property. There were no physical evidence and conflicting stories. Was not family violence, report taken.
  • Dispute, New Lacy St., mother called because her daughter would not leave. Daughter left to go home upon our arrival. All ok at this time.
  • Animal Complaint, West Spring St., Quality Foods in reference to a small dog being inside a vehicle parked on location. Front window was cracked, and the dog appeared ok. Negative contact with the complainant.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West 5th St., reference to a black SUV blocking roadway. Officer made contact with the driver and advised them to move their vehicle. Vehicle was moved out of the roadway. Ok.
  • 911 Hang Up, Colquitt St., complainant called because her neighbor was asleep on the front porch and snoring. Complainant thought it was a medical emergency. All ok at this time.
  • Theft, West Spring St., Walmart in reference to complainant purse possible being stolen. Report taken.
  • Assault, Gatewood Dr., complainant reported named subject assaulted her juvenile grandson. No witness to represent either side and no marks on victim. Report Taken upon request, not family violence.
  • Threats, West Spring St., Elite Storage., male subject was terminated and was disgruntled leaving the property. HIS manager wanted police to be aware in case male subject takes further action.
  • Burglary, Storehouse Ct., complainant reporting that someone broke into the apartment and vandalized it.  They are in the process of moving and needed an incident report for documentation.
  • Juvenile Complaint, East Church, Juvenile destroyed property inside the residence. Later made suicide threats and was turned over to EMS.
  • Warrant Service, reference to meeting with Snellville PD to arrest Ashley Sweet who has warrants with this agency. Arrest made, report taken.
  • Trespassing, West Vine St., Park Owner requested Scotty Cannella has criminally trespassed. Trespass warning issued.
  • Vehicle Accident, South Bd. St/Davis St. 3 vehicles. 1 vehicle left prior to arrival. Omar Garcia arrested for driving while unlicensed. Report taken.
  • Disturbance, Baron Dr., Met with complainant stated named male subject was causing a disturbance and she asked him to leave. Male subject was GOA. Advised on remedies though the courts. All ok.
  • Traffic Stop, Davis St./Ash St., Jasmine Sims was stopped due to multiple equipment violations.  Ms. Sims did not have a valid driver’s license and was taken into custody.  She was fingerprinted and released on a copy of citation.
  • Area Check at the Butcher Block in reference to complainant seeing teenagers sitting inside their shed. The Shed was checked all ok.
  • Theft Report, Golfview Terrace, reference to complainant calling because she observed someone on her cameras take a package from her front porch. Upon further investigation it was her neighbor and the package was his and delivered to the wrong address. All ok.
  • Area Check, South Broad St., Southside Mobile Park, reference to complainant calling because an unknown male busted a bottle in the street and appeared to be running from someone. Negative contact.
  • Agency Assist, DFACS, reference to standing by while a child is taken.
  • Mental Transport, South Madison Ave., Boys & Girls Club. Met with Complainant who stated that her granddaughter needed to be transported to Piedmont Walton Hospital to be Evaluated. All ok.
  • Traffic Stop, Sorrells St./North Broad. Willie Vinson was stopped for traffic violations. Upon further investigation he was placed under arrest for DUI.
  • Death Investigation, South Madison Ave., complainant located his step brother who was deceased in their residence. Coroner and CID responded. Report taken
  • Discharge of Firearms, Meadow Walk Dr., Multiple complainants stated they saw flash lights and heard gun shots in the area of Meadow Walk. Officers heard numerous gunshots in the area of the wood line. Conducted an area check with negative contact with anyone in the area.
  • EMS Assist, East Church St., Male patient on the floor non-responsive. Male subject was found on the floor drunk. TOT EMS all ok at this time.
  • Agency Assist, Wayne St., McDaniel St., reference to working a WCSO deputy a part-time at First United Methodist and seeing a suspicious person in the area. Extensive area check completed with negative contact.
  • Theft, Mary St., complainant’s pumpkin was stolen around 0300 hours this date from her backyard. She was advised of remedies and that an area check will be conducted at night.
  • Dispute, Ridge Rd., reference to named male subject kicking in the door and being involved in a physical altercation with his ex-girlfriend and another male subject. Warrant to be taken. Report taken.
  • Custody Dispute, Ash Ln., mother reported her child’s father took their child without her consent. Upon further investigation the father was contacted and brought the child back.
  • Dispute, Ash St, Parties on location in dispute with juveniles. Parties were gone when officers arrived.
  • Civil Matter, Custom Way, met with the complainant who stated that she has an ongoing issue with named female subject. Advised remedies though the courts.
  • Domestic Dispute, 5th St., met with the complainant. She stated that she was having an argument with her boyfriend over him drinking and calling her names. Parties separated, Report made
  • Juvenile Complaint, West Creek Cir., met with complainant who stated that her roommate left her special needs juvenile home without saying anything to her. Mom arrived on scene took the child. All is ok.
  • Dispute, Birch St., complainant stated that his sister locked him out of the house. Spoke with other family members who did not know he was outside and stated that complainant was a mental patient and that everything was ok.
