National Weather Service recognizes Severe Weather Preparedness Week

Walton County EMA Joins National Weather Service in Recognizing Emergency Preparedness Week

(February 4, 2019)–Walton County Emergency Management Agency (Walton County EMA) joins the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) and the National Weather Service (NWS)  in recognizing Severe Weather Preparedness Week for the state of Georgia.  Beginning Monday, February 4, 2019, the NWS will address a specific severe weather safety/ preparedness topic. Walton County EMA encourages all citizens to be prepared for severe weather-related events by developing a safety plan during Severe Weather Preparedness Week. 

Monday the NWS recognizes the need for a family plan should severe weather hit. Click or tap on this link for a video and information on how families can prepare for any type of weather hazard that could affect their area.
