No increased general fund millage rate for Gwinnett County in 2019

Despite originally advertising possibly setting a higher millage rate, on Tuesday the Gwinnett Board of Commissioners adopted the same general fund millage rate as last year, which at the rollback rate was 7.209 mills.

As is required by law, the Gwinnett County BOC held the required three public hearings and advertised the potential increase in millage rate to 7.4 mills before adopting the same rate as 2018. The 2019 total property tax millage rate for property owners in unincorporated Gwinnett County will be 13.319.  Last year’s rate was 13.51 mills.

The millage rates for special service districts created in 2013 and countywide levies for recreation also remain unchanged from last year. Millage rates for service districts in Gwinnett are based on property location and county services provided, such as police, fire, and emergency medical. Details on millage rates are available online at www.gwinnettcounty.com.

The Gwinnett County Board of Education millage rate is 21.75 mills. Property taxes for Gwinnett County are due by Oct. 15. Bills are expected to be mailed by Aug. 15.
