Obituary and funeral service: James Benjamin ‘Jim’ Hawkins, 86, of Loganville

James Benjamin “Jim” Hawkins age 86 of Loganville, passed away on Friday, April 03, 2020. The family will have a private graveside service, due to the COVID-19 virus. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mr. Hawkins was a U.S. Army Veteran and he retired from Southern Bell after 31 years of service. He frequented the Cup & Saucer in Loganville daily. A motorcycle rider for over 60 years, Jim continued riding until last year, at the age of 85. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Joy Hope Griffin Hawkins in 1992. He was affectionately known as “Bobo” by his 7 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his daughters & sons-in-law, Karen & Terry Hollis, Loganville; Kathy & Robert Riley, Garden City; Kim & Steve Tedder, Lilburn; son, Scott Hawkins, Garden City; brother & sister-in-law, Donald & Sylvia Hawkins; brother, Waymon Hawkins, all of Loganville; brother-in-law, Jim Beverly, Woodstock.
