Oliver Jack Garner, age 68 of Monroe, GA, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dixie Garner & Catherine Garner Payne; brothers, Gene Garner and Johnny Garner; niece, Jeannie Garner; and nephew, Curt Lynch. He is survived by his sisters, Patricia Garner Henderson and Dixie Ann Christian (Ray); brothers, James Garner and Mack Garner (Patsy); sister-in-law, Phyllis Garner; nephews, Craig Henderson, Greg Henderson, Phil Garner, and Nicholas Lynch; nieces, Deanna Grayson, Jona Cardell, and Brittany Godfrey; and several great nieces & great-nephews.

Jack grew up in Stone Mountain, GA, and graduated from South Gwinnett High School. He was a cameraman with The Decatur-DeKalb News for 25 years. Jack was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. He loved fishing, horses, and living on the lake. He also loved his dog, Fancy.

The Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Jack Garner will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel with Pastor Tommy Foskey and Pastor Don Richards officiating. Interment will follow at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery, Stone Mountain, GA. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org.
