Obituary and funeral service: William ‘Bill’ Collier, Sr., 77, of Monroe

William “Bill” Collier, Sr., age 77 of Monroe, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2020. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 12, 2020 in the Monroe Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home. Bill was retired from the State of Georgia as a Computer Programmer. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Snellville and a huge fan of the Georgia Bulldogs. He was a man that never met a stranger and would be the first person to talk to you in a crowded room. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Levi & Rachael Louise Thomas Collier; sister, Barbara Bailey and he is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Collier of Monroe; son & daughter-in-law, William V. “Butch” & Sherri Collier, Jr. of Newnan; daughter, Mary “Tammy” Howell of Monroe; grandchildren, Ryan, Kristina, Morgan and Jenna; sister, Juanita Donald of Palm Coast, FL.
