John Alfred Braden, 93, of Good Hope, died on June 9, 2018. He was born in Norton, VA January 7, 1925 to the late Boyd Early Braden and the late Virginia Sweeney Braden.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Anne Shepherd Braden and his brother Boyd Early Braden, Jr.
John is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Sean Callahan of Good Hope; sons and daughter-in-law, John and Missy Braden, Jr. of Covington, Tad Braden of Rolling Meadows, IL, Timmy Braden of Good Hope; sisters, Dorothy Bruce and Mary Blanche Crawley of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Josh Braden, Zach Braden, Jessica Douglas, Cory Braden, Dane Callahan, Capt. Kyle Callahan, Trevor Wilson, Nicole Wilson; great grandchildren, John Wesley Braden, Eli Marshall Braden, Annabeth Savannah Braden, Andrew Jack Braden, Charles Russell Callahan, and Vincent James Callahan.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Bostwick United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow at Bostwick Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in honor of John Braden to either the Les Turner ALS Foundation or the Walton County Special Olympics.
