Robert Harold Floyd, 88, of Loganville Georgia passed away Friday, January 4, 2019, at Eastside Medical Center in Snellville. He was preceded in death by spouse Margaret Morrow Floyd. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Robert H Floyd, Jr and wife Elizabeth; son, David C Floyd and his wife Christie; grandsons, David Kenworthy, Brandon Wood, Nicholas Wood; great-grandchildren, Taelynn, Noah, Corey, Jacob and Maria; brother, Jerry Floyd and his wife Marily of Lake Lure, NC; and a host of other relatives. He was predeceased by sister, Eleanor; and brothers, Alton and John.
Mr. Floyd was a native of Clayton Ga and a son of the late Berry and Lucy Whitmire Floyd. He graduated from Piedmont College. He was an elementary school principal with most of his years spent at Bob Mathis Elementary, and he retired from Dekalb County School System. He was an active member of the South Dekalb Optimist club for many years and an active member of Snellville First Baptist Church. A passionate Georgia Bulldog fan, he also enjoyed fishing, golf and bridge.
The Celebration of Life service for Robert Harold Floyd will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
